About this listen

It's 1962. The prisons are overcrowded and it's about to become worse due to budget cuts. US President Cain Cardwell has a plan. Move the worst offenders on death row to a remote island. His closest confident, Jackson Draper, has doubts, realizing that the president has an alternate agenda that is too sinister, even for a rogue president. Now, he must risk his own life to stop the madman, in a race against time. The clock is ticking...

Full of political drama and a president who seems to have no morals, this short story is full of tension.

At the end I was left feeling amazed, a bit shell shocked, and oddly satisfied. I enjoyed it from beginning to the end, I was intrigued and horrified. Highly recommended.

The character voices are well done and the pacing of the narration helps to build to the drama of the story.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Just... Wow!

I listened to this right after Bussa's other work, 'Letters to Eula', which was fantastic, so it may have colored my perception of 'JETTISON!' a bit. Overall, this just didn't work for me. The characters were all a bit flat and unsympathetic, while the President came across as a caricature of an evil politician. The historical setting was a nice element, I especially liked how Bussa incorporated the flawed design and real crashes of the Lockheed Electra planes into the story. The narration done by Ken Clark Smooth Voiceovers was OK. He has a good sounding voice, but his delivery was a bit deadpan, especially when doing the dialogue.

I have listened to a number of Bussa's other works, all of which I enjoyed, especially 'Letters to Eula', but this one just didn't do it for me unfortunately.

Didn't Do It For Me

The story is good enough, but it was a bit difficult to appreciate in audio. The narration sounded read, not performed, and the pacing was very inconsistent. Most often it was a bit too slow, and every so often rushed.

Decent story, not a great listen

Cool political thriller!
Very gripping, was captivated from beginning to end. Short/easy listen, but jam packed with Bussa awesomeness. What IF that were to happen? Would it work? A deadly game to play!

Great listen, definitely recommended :)
