Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times best-selling author Debbie Macomber comes a heartwarming new novella about the power of Christmas to melt even the coldest hearts.

With the rest of her family on a cruise, Lindsay Calhoun will be spending her first Christmas alone, so she volunteers to plan an especially festive holiday party for her company. Her coworkers are grateful—except for tall, quiet Jack Taylor. Jack has always been a loner, but something about Christmas puts him in an unusually foul mood.

Despite Jack’s Scrooge-like complaints, the party is a success, ending only with a sudden snowstorm. As Lindsay cleans up and Jack looks for lost keys, they are the last ones in the building. Then the power goes out. The locks malfunction. Lindsay and Jack are stuck together with no rescue in sight.

While the two wait out the storm, there’s nothing to do but talk. Once they drop their defenses, they learn surprising truths about each other. After the lights come back on, neither knows whether to pretend it never happened—or let their undeniable attraction bring them together again, and lead to something more.

Jack Frost is a celebration of the romantic magic of Christmastime, when something as simple as a gingerbread cookie can offer a new beginning, and when love can surprise us when we least expect it.

Cheerful Christmas tale

In typical Debbie Macomber fashion, she weaves a tale of personal reconciliation and healing at Christmas.

Short story, but LONG on Christmas cheer

At first, I was a little disappointed that I’d used an Audible credit for a novella. Then I started listening. There’s enough Christmas cheer in this story to last long after it’s over.
Partly because of the situation they’ve found themselves in, the reader gets fully enveloped with Jack and Lindsey’s backstory and part of it is heartbreaking.
I could definitely see this as a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Thank you Debbie Macomber!

Terrible reader

The reader sounded computerized. I cannot keep my attention on the computer voice. I love your books but this is very hard to enjoy.

Just okay.

I was hoping for characters I could love & great narration. I Got neither. The characters remained cardboard-ish. Unless you count a confession of a rough childhood from Jack. But even then, in my opinion, he remains a flat personality. Meeting his family added no warmth. Adding to the skimpy plot is terrible narration. The narrator sounds stuck between robotic and reading unfamiliar lines. Once in a while she sounds expressive, but it doesn't last.
I am in a mood for Christmas so I was really wanting to love this book. I didn't & I only recommend for the most devoted fan.

I actually thought the voice was a computer so horrible

The narrator was absolutely terrible, and sounded like a computerized voice. It was so distracting, but it almost ruined the story.
