About this listen

Countless obstacles have barred Argrave’s uncertain path to kingship, most of all his own acceptance, yet now the race is nearing its end. His brother Orion has acted contrary to anyone’s expectations in defying his father, yet a kingdom is more than its king alone. Each of the kingdom’s dozen vassals have vassals of their own, and Vasquer is on the brink of shattering into countless petty nations as it did in the history Argrave remembers.

The stain of bastardry lingers on Argrave’s claim, and unless he intends to earn a title without any power, he must act the delicate diplomat, the unbroken commander, and the just ruler all in one. Serious introspection suggests he may be none of the three. But then, who’s to say a king has to be himself at all?

I actually work a lot with machine learning models and artificial intelligences, and that y I know there needs to be a feedback mechanism for recursive learning to happen.
Overall, I think the narration was not bad, u don't get any cues from the AI narrator from tonal inflection to know when something important is happening so u can perk up n pay proper attention. That was my main complaint with virtual voice on day 1, and its still true today ...but if u r invested enough in the story to pay proper attention regardless, and if u don't need those verbal cues to catch important moments in the story ...then virtual voice is perfectly serviceable

buuuuuuuuuut ...some really basic errors, easy to fix stuff, super low-hanging fruit ...consistently made all throughout the book.
I'm referring to the different tiers/ranks of power
a 7yr old could pick up from context that C-rank, B-rank, A-rank, and S-rank are levels meant to distinguish relative power/quality/ability ...but virtual voice pronounces them as if they r words. In particular, A-rank is "arank" and S-rank is "sss-rank" (like a snake hissing). Throughout the whole book, n there's like 6 more books. At no point can the ML-model learn/change/evolve ...it detracts from the immersion

Other than virtual voice being the narrator, this series is really well written, definitely worth checking out
