Great story about a couple who gets a second chance at love after distrust tore them apart.

This story is short compared to other books in the series. The author wraps things up for readers. This story of evil parents that are in love with each other but cause pain for everyone else around them. But they produce a child that DOESN'T share in their views. Mate bonds can happen between 2 evil people. Their children can turn evil like them or turn around to hate their parents. I am happy the lead character found her way home to her true love/mate BUT to sacrifice blood seemed to me sad. I guess some people can't change or not given the chance to change. I gave this story 5 stars because of the diversity of difference races between the characters but, I feel this whole series should be just one book..BTW a pale father & a dark skinned mother would produce a mocha child.. A pale father & mocha mother would NOT produce a mocha child. She would not have been a carbon copy of the mother in which the path she took definitely show that. That little detail bothered me.. Sorry... Still this story was worth a read.

Jared's mate Sable has turned herself in to Ashwood Falls for judgement of what she did while with her father. Jared has touched so he has the knowledge that she has tried to stop her father from committing anymore crimes and even formed a group to fight him. Can Jared find it in his heart to take her back? Can Sable forgive him for breaking their bond? What happens when her mother comes after her?
I love the confrontation that takes place between Sable her "sister" Anna and her mother. The narrator did a great job of bringing excitement to the characters.
