About this listen

For as long as she can remember, Jane Stuart and her mother have lived with her controlling grandmother in a dreary mansion in Toronto. Jane always believed her father was dead, so she was shocked to receive an invitation to stay with him for the summer on Prince Edward Island. But from their very first meeting, Jane fell in love with her charming father and his whimsical cottage. During her stay with him, she even found herself daring to dream that there could be such a house back in Toronto - a house where she, Mother, and Father could live together without Grandmother directing their lives - a house that she could come to call home.

Montgomery has always been a great story teller and Jane's story is no different. I laughed so hard during the part with the escaped lion! Howevet several times throughout it would repeat and I'd already downloaded it, so I'm uncertain why. I'm hoping its just a bad download.

Great Book, Great Narration...recording flawed?

I really liked this story. I generally like most of the stories by the same author.

Loved it!

The narrator was pretty good. Didn’t really do any very distinct character voices but that didn’t take away from the story. The recording did have a lot of times that the narrator would repeat what they just said. So basically it was very evident where they took a reading break and restarted by reading the last sentence over again. Just poor editing but the story was really nice so would definitely recommend.

Nice reading. Some repetition.

Jane is a brave selfless girl who i admire very much. Montgomery is a true Author and every one of her books i read, i feel is a piece of the puzzle to her true charcteristics and nature. I love Jane's respect to her grandmother even though she's a truly horrible woman. I think that Jane's relationship with her father is wholesome and pure, and i wish that in this modern age all girls could have sutch relationships. Anyone who likes Anne of Green Gables, or Emily of New Moon, or even the Story Girl will LOVE Jane of Lantern hill. Trust me, it's worth the money.

Montgomery, BRILLIANT

I really enjoyed this story, I've listened to it a few times. I wish they would fix the audio though, there are several places it repeats a sentence which can be distracting. I do really like the story!

Such a sweet story.
