Book 1-6? LIES!

This collection is NOT books 1 through 6 in fact it is Book 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and Chronicles. It does NOT include Anne of Windy Poplars(Book 4) Or Anne of Ingleside(Book 6)

The Narrator is changed mid-story to another which I found very annoying as the two narrators speak differently for those in the story, making the start of the new narration hard to follow.

Missing a book

This totally skips Anne of Windy Poplars. One of the two narrators isn't great, but the other one is fine. I wouldn't have bought this if I knew it skipped a whole book.

a classic

I love Anne of Green Gables. It is a comfort story for me since I was a child. my only disappointment is that this collection is not complete. Anne of Windy Popular is missing.

Narrator changes

Audio is excellent till we get to Anne’s wedding. The second narrator is not nearly as excellent...

Love the series

I have read this series multiple times hard copy and was excited to find the audiobooks shortly after joining audible. This collection does not include the entire series, however the narration was well done.

Long But Good.

Honestly I struggled to finish this one. It was so long, and not what I was expecting. In Addition to the 6 books listed, it also contains 2 books of short stories on the other inhabitants of Avonlea. I was sad to find that Anne was not the main character for half of this recording. However, I am still glad I finished it. Montgomery is an enchanting writer who still has much wit and wisdom to share with today's readers.

Great Stories but not as great Performance

I love the stories of Anne and her woes and triumphs--I listened through all of them quite fast due to the fact that I just wanted to know what happened next. Although they are rather predictable and a little bit cliche at times, they still serve their purpose of making you feel warm and hopeful and happy--and they certainly make you laugh. The performance of them, however, was disappointing. Especially in Green Gables, Avonlea, and the Island (the first three books), the performer grated on my nerves. Her voices for the girls in the stories was very high pitched and baby-like, and I couldn't take it seriously. It quite ruined a few characters for me. The performer changes starting with book 4, House of Dreams, and she is a bit better but also rather drone. It may be just my preference, but I don't recommend these performers. This was a great deal, though, to get six books in one.

A wonderful author and wonderful narration!

I don't even know where to begin to praise this or author for such beautiful accounts and vivid description. Her stories are captivating.

I love AoGG but the narration is poor

The narrator has a pleasant voice but when different voices are used for characters ... awful!

Mix of Narrators

Since this is the whole collection, it makes sense that the narrator changes. I prefer the first narrator I heard, especially because the narrator in the last few books pronounces Avonlea as AvonLEA (instead of AVonlea). The narrators do an excellent job in many ways.
The later books deal with some of the tough experiences people dealt with in the time the books were set (miscarriage, WWI, etc.). I learned a lot about WWI, which was interesting and heartbreaking.
The mix of short stories from Avonlea would have been nice to hear/read more toward the middle of the collection, rather than last. The final short story of a time in “wild” Canada was hard to listen to, knowing the likelihood of mistreatment white settlers gave to the natives.
