About this listen

I’ve always been a bad boy, but things have never been this bad before.

Now I’m running from something terrible, something I didn’t want to do and can never take back.

When I arrive in Washington, planning to hide out at the Tremblay estate where I used to visit my cousins, the Tremblay brothers, I pretend everything is fine.

Because nobody can know what I did when I can’t even look at myself in the mirror and every time I close my eyes, I taste my best friend’s blood.

But I didn’t count on the girl.

Shelly is hardly what I’d call my type.

She’s cute, sure. But she’s too shy, too smart, too...good.

The last thing I came here to do was to find love.

And the last thing I want to do is hurt someone so sweet.

But when passion takes us both by surprise, I know that love isn’t something that listens to reason.

Part of a great set

Good story. Likeable characters. Interesting because the main sources of conflict are his best friends and his own guilty feelings.

I liked the story.....

I liked the story itself but the narrator's voice made sound like it should be a book for teenagers which made it kind of difficult to get into the story.

Jeb's Mate

An interesting story that continues the Tremblay family’s journey. This is the cousin Jeb’s story. Jeb has fled his pack and come to see his cousins. He is running from his problems but soon they catch up with him and he must figure out if he is ready to face them.
It took me a while to get into this book. I had a hard time connecting with the main characters. Jeb comes off as an arrogant playboy and Shelly is overly naïve and shy to the point of having unhealthy issues that are not touched on just stated that she has them. It was nice to see the way the family gathers together to help Jeb. This book moves along at a quick pace. The narration is fluid but I was not fond of the voices used.
