Jedidiah Boone

Gene Engene does a good job narrating this story. This is a short 6 hours story which is ideal to fit between reading longer books. The book follows the typical western theme of bad men, Indians, families moving west and a seasoned mountain man. Easy to listen to for a medium commute.

DOG, MULE AND BUTTERNUT

This is a fairly easy listening, you know exactly what is going to happen, comfortable story. The story and ever single character is as cliché as they come, but that is not a bad thing. Most of the time I want a book with lots of twists and surprises and then at other times I want something I can rely on. I want the good guy to be triumphant and get the girl. If you have half a brain that is not a spoiler. Boone has such an imagination that he named his dog, Dog, his mule, Mule and his horse, Butternut.

WE'LL START WITH CHAPTER ONE
I have listened to thousands of audio books and don't ever remember a narrator starting a book with that phrase. Gene's rich baritone voice and pacing is perfect for this Mountain Man story.

Like taking a trip back

Great reader. Nice pace and voice changed per character.

I'd get another book by this team of writer and reader.

Too short!

Story was too short! Could had added more about Jedidian after his mission and his life with his new family.
