Publisher's summary

Intelligent and outspoken, Jessica Barnes left her home back East to help her seriously ill brother run the Springwater Gazette, and arrives in town to find the family and the newspaper in upheaval. Ever efficient, and not shy with her opinions, Jessica rolls up her sleeves and takes charge. Great story but …. I the narrator spoke in a sultry slow depressing voice

Loved the story. Had to get accustomed to the narrator. Jacob’s voice in this reading made me want to fast forward. I wish it would have been read in more strong voice. Narrator did great on the children’s voices. Loved the story anyway!

Happy ending after a tragic start.

Love the Springwater Seasons!
Only wish is that the stories were longer like the first book, Springwater with Scully, Evangeline and Abigail.
Thought that the narrator did a pretty good job, nice range of voices. Definitely a huge improvement from the Rachael, Savanna, and Miranda narrators.

Very sad story with a happy ending.

This was a story about a woman who was left alone when her brother and sister in law died before she got to them and only learned of the deaths when she arrived. In the 18 hundreds communication was limited and slow. The only thing I didn’t like was the narrator spoke in a male voice in a staccato manner that just sounded strange.

Sweet Story, Narrator Could Improve

I love Linda Lael Miller and all the Springwater books, I had read them all before listening on audible. I give it 5 stars because the writing is good and the story is good but I will say the narration is lacking; the narrator mispronounced words and when speaking the part of Gage she seemed to rush her speaking to the point of me slowing down the pace because it was so annoying. Otherwise a sweet edition to Springwater.
