Publisher's summary

Self-made tycoon Landry Sutton heads to Hangman Bend’s Ranch to sell his land to his brother Zane. Though he’s got cowboy in his blood, Landry plans to return to city life before the dust even settles on his boots.

Of course, he didn’t count on falling for Big Sky Country…or Ria Manning. Ria’s starting to settle into country life herself…until she has a close encounter of the terrifying kind with a buffalo. Turns out the peeping monster belongs to the cowboy next door - and he has her running even more scared than his bison. She wants a home where the buffalo don’t roam, and the men don’t either. Could Landry’s homecoming be her heart’s undoing?

Great story!

This series was one of the best I've read or listened too in a long while. I am so glad a friend recommended them.

Disappointing

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Do not know

What do you think your next listen will be?

Another Linda Leah Miller. I really like her books, but not this one.

What didn’t you like about Jack Garrett’s performance?

I really like him.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointing

Any additional comments?

It was boring, dragged on and on. Not much of a story.

Over 20 minutes

I’m no prude but I found an approximate 25 minute detailed sex scene in the last 58 minutes of the book too much. There was another shorter sex scene in those same 58 minutes. Sometimes less is more I think this author just copies the sex scenes from book to book. Is that formula fiction?

Nice story until the last few scenes

The narrator sounded like a 60 yr old man so I had a hard time picturing the male characters as young men. The story was sweet and sassy but that was ruined in the ending with a awful sexual encounter. Too bad it could hav had a nice ending.

Very disappointing!!

I've listened to one of LLM's previous books and really enjoyed it, but this one is torture. The characters have very extreme emotions (not placed correctly: something really small would happen and the character would go in a complete turmoil about it. Very unrealistic and really annoying). I also got the impression that the writer tried to use "creative phrases" which was sometimes misplaced - and the book seemed to be forced-written and wasn't natural. The main female character is also a bit wimpy and pathetic. So much time was spent on describing dead husband - and too little on giving the main characters a bit of substance. I'm not even going to finish the book. If the narrator wasn't really good, I would've given up in the first chapter already.

Another wonderful story from LLM.

Any additional comments?

Linda Lael Miller paints a beautiful picture of Montana and makes me want to visit. I loved this book and the journey Rhea and Landry went on. If only there were really men like LLM's Montana Men.
