About this listen

Code name: Jet

Twenty-eight-year-old Jet was once the Mossad's most lethal operative before faking her own death and burying that identity forever. But the past doesn't give up on its secrets easily.

When her new life on a tranquil island is shattered by a brutal attack, Jet must return to a clandestine existence of savagery and deception to save herself and those she loves. A gritty, unflinching roller-coaster of high-stakes twists and shocking turns, Jet features a new breed of protagonist that breaks the mold.

Fans of Lisbeth Salander, SALT, and the Bourne trilogy will find themselves carried along at Lamborghini speed to a conclusion as surprising as the story's heroine is unconventional.

Must have more Jet in audio format

Would you listen to Jet, Book 1 again? Why?

No, I don't repeat books but if I did, this would be one I repeat.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jet, Book 1?

It was so action packed it would be impossible to choose one.

Which character – as performed by Braden Wright – was your favorite?

Jet! I loved the narration by Braden Wright.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! Fortunately for me, I am able to pick up quickly after an interruption.

Any additional comments?

My husband's favorite authors are Brad Thor, Vince Flynn (so sad he is gone) and Daniel Silva. He will be adding a new author to his list, Russell Blake.

SERIOUS SPOILER!!!! @71% DNF. SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

Ok, so at 71% I’m not going to finish this book. I get real tired of authors who let you get to know people and like them then kill them off. Jet and David got back together after 3 years and were thinking and talking about a future, after they killed Grigenko, only to have David die? That’s not good reading, IMO. I was looking around Goodreads when I saw a spoiler and read that David died and I knew then that I was done. Jet is one tough cookie but even her toughness couldn't make up for David.

Any sex between David and Jet was all fade-to-black and there was no swearing to speak of.

As to the narrator: Braden Wright was not very good at all. All females sounded too male and he read without emotion. I have no idea how he got so many great reviews.

Excellent Series

Finished all six books, fun series, not polished or extremely realistic but entertaining and sexy.

An exciting, original thriller

What did you love best about Jet, Book 1?

The strong female lead character and the almost poetic writing quality. Unexpected for the genre.

What did you like best about this story?

Non-stop action in a variety of believable, exotic international destinations so vividly described it was like being there.

What does Braden Wright bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A wonderfully nuanced reading, including a host of place names I would never have a clue how to pronounce.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene at the cemetery with Jet at her daughter's grave was heartbreaking.

Any additional comments?

Jet is an amazing story told in a skillful way by a hypnotic storyteller. One of my favorites to date. I also hope Russell brings the rest of the Jet series to audible because these books are great to listen to.

Jack Reacher caliber but refreshingly unique experience

My first Jet book. Loved it.
Enough tradecraft detail for the feel of the read, which is fast and flows well.

Fantastic! I loved this book. Jet is a phenomenal covert operator. She handled her missions and personal life with aplomb. I'm looking forward to continuing this series.
