About this listen

Scarlett is always the sensible one: The sober driver. The planner. The one holding your hair back while you're worshiping the porcelain gods.

Week-after-week, she visits Jock Row with her friends - the university's hottest party scene and a breeding ground for student athletes. And if keeping her friends out of trouble and guys out of their pants was a sport, she'd be the star athlete. Being a well known jock-blocker gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons; just like that, she's banned from Jock Row. No guy wants a girl around who keeps their jock friends from getting laid.

"Rowdy" Wade is the hot shot shortstop for the university's baseball team - and the unlucky bastard who drew the short straw: keep little Miss Goody Two-Shoes out of the baseball house. But week-after-week Scarlett returns, determined to get inside.

Sooooo good

I love a good book where the guy doesn’t start off as a womanizing man whore that eventually learns the error of his way... Sterling is an all around great guy that falls for a woman and there is no angst or ridiculous scene where there is some huge misunderstanding or someone is put in a compromising situation. I don’t mind that sometimes but I just feel like it is soooooo overdone. What about just telling a story of two people that wet and fall in love the normal easy natural uncomplicated way??!! Well this book has it.. so much in love with this!! Worth the credit

Great story

I really liked these characters & their story even though I thought it was a little too long for the plot. The narration was great!

So sweet!

If you’re looking for a sweet, funny, and light hearted read, look no further! Rowdy was so swoony and just a good guy. There were real moments that you could relate to, not everything went perfect. The narrators did a great job!

Cute

This is a good writer who knows how to pick narrators. Although the story was cute in lacked bite, other than the fact that Scarlett was a virgin and Rowdy’s friends didn’t like her. It was a cute anecdote that Ney turned into a story. A lot of her books are like that. They are fun, sweet HEA with not a lot of conflict, but they are well written and made to let you relax. That being said I thought this book went on a bit long for what it is.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

This is the book that made me a fan of Sara Ney (haven't looked back since). It's such a refreshing read; not the typical 'jock meets girl' scenario here. This meet-and-cute is just what the doctor ordered: not too sweet, not a lot of angst. The perfect character development that works well with the storyline. Rowdy and Scarlet's chemistry is amazing; so candid and real. I think what ultimately did it for me, was the phenomenal banter. It's funny, clever, sexy; no cheese at all. Can't wait for the sequel: "Jock Rule." The paperback/e-version has a prequel to Kip Carmichael and Theodora "Teddy" Johnson's story. Seems adorably cute too. Check it out. You won't regret it!!!!

Love this series

I went backwards in listening to this series and I am kinda happy about it. I did enjoy this one, because come on, rowdy and Scarlett were amazing and this story was adorable, but I enjoyed the others just a bit more. I loved the premise so much tho. They were so sweet together. The narration was perfect too!

Love it!

I loved this book. One of my favorite things about it is the lack of angst. This story didn’t even need it. I found myself smiling through most of it and cheering on Rowdy and Scarlet. I liked the slow build up of their romance and the genuine friendship they had at first. This book really reminded me of what it was like when you had a crush on someone and all of the feelings that came with it. It was very nostalgic.

Ava and Josh did an excellent job! Ava has one of those voices that is perfect for college-aged students. It’s always tough listening to narrators with “older” voices trying to read for someone in their early 20s, so Ava was the perfect pick for this.
I admit, I didn’t love Josh in the beginning, I liked him sure, but didn’t love him. HOWEVER, he really grew on me and I feel like he became Rowdy. I can’t imagine anyone else reading his character now after having listened to this book in its entirety. Ava and Josh really brought Scarlet and Rowdy to life.

I highly recommend this book, especially as an audio! If you’re tired of angst and just want a make you smile kind of romance, this is definitely the book for you!

Rowdy is the captain of the baseball team and is over the cleat chasers that come to the baseball house. Scarlett is a beach loving girl stuck in Iowa dreaming of a way to work with marine wildlife. I loved how their relationship evolved from kicking Scarlett out of a party to vacationing together. They played ‘would you rather’ to get to know each other better and it was so cute.

A sweet dirty talking baseball player falls for studious out-spoken girl.

A slow burn about two college seniors. This book is all about the relationship between Scarlett and baseball player Sterling “Rowdy” Wade. Loved the banter between these two and their relationship build up.
