Set 10 years after Little Men, Jo's Boys revisits Plumfield, the New England school still presided over by Jo and her husband, Professor Bhaer. This one the fourth and final installment in the little women series. It’s all about how obviously how the plum field boys and girls turned out in early adulthood. About Nan becoming a doctor and Tommy dear Tommy annoying her like a mayfly. Nat and Daisy’s relationship being tested. Emil’s career in shipping. And Demi learning what he wants to do with his life. Josy and Bess ( mainly Josy ) trying to get the attention of a famous actress. And another play that Jo and her sisters put on with the help of Laurie just like in the old days. And Dan poor Dan. I say he was innocent the judge didn’t look enough into the case. He deserves compensation for that ordeal. For they broke him. We hear about Rob and Ted it goes more into their personalities. And Jo being an author. And plz stop Jo and Laurie shippers Professor Bhear is a very nice person. For none of the movies bring out her came to America to take care of his dead sister’s children six year old Franz and four year old Emil. He left his entire life behind for that. Plz accept this and that we should all respect him thank you. 😊
This one’s my favorite 🙃

Here is romance, a bit of murder, high heroics, little things of interest and a tragedy. Jo and her professor husband, Mr. Bhaer have established Plumfield College. I am a bit vague concerning the philosophical underpinnings of Louisa May Alcott but I think she followed the Transcendentalists of Emerson and company. Think of them as an improvement association for mind, body and soul: no excuses and no shirking of responsibilities allowed. In any case, Plumfield was run on these principles.
Like all Alcott works, this book is packed with humorous anecdotes and funny incidents slyly tucked in among cleverly disguised advice and admonishments. Not bad advice either; it was solid in 1880 and maybe even more solid in 2009.

The narrator was really quite wonderful. She gave subtle nuances to the different voices of the characters without sounding ridiculous. This is the exact performance style that makes listening to a book so pleasing. I will listen to it many more times!
