About this listen

An absolutely binge-worthy and totally gripping psychological thriller

‘You’re beautiful,’ Alex tells me when we first meet at a mutual friend’s wedding. I’m flattered, and instantly drawn to him. But as we get closer, I soon realise that Alex is keeping a dark secret. But then again, so am I…

Alex and I haven’t been dating for very long when I go to his place for the first time. Feeling self-conscious as I notice a thread coming loose on my dress, he pours me a glass of wine and I take in the pristine room and expensive furnishings. Everything here is perfect, too perfect. Where are the personal touches, the souvenirs from his life? Where are the photos of his friends and family?

‘You can trust me,’ Alex says as he hands me the wine, and my heart beats wildly in my chest. I really want this to work, especially after the disaster of my last relationship. ‘You can trust me too,’ I say, avoiding his eye and wondering if I’m as safe as I thought I was.

As our relationship progresses and we spend more time together, I begin to make plans for our future. Everything is perfect, but one thing is clear:

Both of us are lying. One of us is dangerous…

Fans of The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage and Gone Girl will absolutely love Keep Me Safe.

Love, deception and heart-stopping twists

I’m so glad I chose “Keep Me Safe” by Sheryl Browne. Initially, it didn't grab my attention, but I've learned that some books just need a little more time to resonate. With Tamsin Kennard's exceptional narration, this psychological thriller had me hooked from start to finish. The story follows two individuals with secretive pasts who meet at a wedding, sparking an intense connection. They draw each other in with their charismatic chemistry, but it soon becomes clear that both are hiding something. Browne’s complexellent plot is a crafty puzzle, with unexpected twists and turns that kept me wanting more. Kennard's captivating narration brings the characters to vivid life, making it easy to become fully engrossed in their subplots. One of the highlights of “Keep Me Safe” is its ability to balance tension and suspense. The author skillfully explores themes of trust, loyalty and the blurred lines between truth and deception. Never a dull moment; I was engaged throughout, anxiously wondering what would happen next. The pacing is precisely handled, with a narrative that flows smoothly and had me guessing until the very end. Convinced I had the finale all figured out, {{{jaw, meet floor}}, I was wrong, If you’re like me and prefer British psychological thrillers, then get this one now. “Keep Me Safe” is a welcome addition to my vast Audible library. With its intricate plot, characters and exceptional narration, it is well worth a cherished credit

Not good

I could not get into this story or the characters. I listen to 2 audio books a month and I could not get past the first couple hours of this one.
