Publisher's summary

The game is over...there’s nowhere to hide.

When Lenchester’s most famous sportsman is shot dead, DCI Whitney Walker and her team are thrown into the world of snooker. She calls on forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish to assist, but the investigation takes them in a direction that has far-reaching international ramifications.

Much to Whitney’s annoyance, an officer from one of the Met's special squads is sent to assist. But as everyone knows...three’s a crowd.

Very enjoyable

This was one of my favorites in the series. I really liked the different theme than usual and the character development up to this point has been a lot of fun. I will definitely be reading the next one as well as the spinoff series.

Cavendish and Walker Book 10

What a complex story this was. I had no idea who the killer was. I enjoyed meeting Sebastian Clifford and seeing how he got along (or not) with Whitney. This story was a pleasure to listen to.

LOVE this series!

I know the exact day each Walker & Cavendish mystery is available, and I immediately download it in Audible format. Clare Corbett, the narrator, does such an excellent job that the story is much enhanced.

In this story, the Lenchester team departs from serial killers to a high profile sports figure. It also introduces us to a new character from the London Met Police Force, Sebastian Clifford. He’s an exceptionally tall aristocrat but not titled or monied because he’s not the eldest son. He joins the team temporarily looking into a case of his own, game fixing through a Singapore syndicate.

I tend to go through these books quickly, as once I’ve started, it’s hard to quit. As always, the banter among Walker’s team makes me laugh, mainly Frank & Doug. It’s also nice to have Whitney’s daughter back home from Australia, but I’ll let you find out the circumstances on your own.

Very entertaining...

So glad that a new character has been introduced to this series as it was getting a bit repetitive. Still enjoy the plots and banter between Cavendiah and Walker, and happy that they are not as rude to each other as in the previous books (that was really getting old).
