About this listen

My life was perfect until she came along. Norah.

Younger, prettier and about to marry my own ex-husband, they are a walking cliché.

I hate her. I hate them both.

She’s taken everything from me - my husband, my life, my home - but I refuse to allow her to take Cassie, my beautiful daughter. That's a step too far.

Now I’ve discovered that Norah plans to have a baby of her own and that causes me no end of problems. She could destroy everything and reveal my deepest, darkest secrets.

That can never be allowed to happen.

No matter what it costs…

A psychological thriller that will keep you guessing till the end! Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Nina Manning, Shalini Boland.

This was the first book I’ve listened to by these two together. I’m a huge fan of the Clifford series, so I gave this a shot and I loved it. I think the layers and the twists were very well written and I went ahead and bought another one with the two of them just to see if it’s also as gripping as this one. Definitely give it a go. Well done ladies.

Loved it

The story has a few layers but they not confusing .. they are very well written and therefore makes it a very interesting story. I had absolutely no idea who the villain was hence its a true thriller, characters are very believable and I knew in the first chapter I'd be enjoying the next few hours!

Gripped ne from the beginning

I wonder if the narrator thought she was reading to a toddler reading circle? Even the storyline seemed juvenile. Maybe it got better. I will never know.

Couldn’t finish.

Lied it but wish it had a better ending for the family but great book

Great storyline

I dislike bad endings, not only the main character was abandoned by a chitty husband and framed of murder by a druggy , she ended up being arrested for a crime she didn’t commit, her daughter a low life ungrateful brat got away with it .

The end

… which is not a good thing for a 10 hour book. I was ready to abandon it and I’m glad I stuck with it. If only the first 3/4 were as good as the last 1/4 I would have rated it much higher. What was difficult to follow is all of a sudden it would transition from one character to the other, without any sort of preamble or introduction or change in chapter like oh, I guess all of a sudden, this character’s point of view is being spoken about now. It would’ve helped if each chapter started with the name of the character from whose perspective it was being told.

Got good about six hours in…

I’m not sure if it’s the writing, the narrator or both, but there is no flow to the book. The character point of view changes frequently and without warning, leaving me wondering who is talking.
There are also unexplained gaps. At one point a character is sitting in her car and in the very next sentence the same character is getting out of the shower. The third sentence than makes an attempt to bridge the gap, but at that point… I’ve given up! The who, what, when, where and why’s are missing.
On top of this, the majority of the book is boring.

Not Great
