About this listen

The latest Rachel Prince mystery by Dawn Brookes.

A body in the water. A plethora of suspects. Rachel Prince must be on another cruise! Plus, by popular demand, Lady Marjorie Snellthorpe returns....

The crew aboard the fictional Coral Queen find themselves stretched to the limit by the antics of a queen tribute act, a troublesome stag party, and a group of excitable female cheerleaders.

Rachel is accompanying Lady Marjorie on a cruise around the Baltics. The older woman is hoping for a mystery while Rachel seeks peace and quiet.

PC Rachel Prince, cruise ship sleuth, can't believe it when a man dies under suspicious circumstances. The probable homicide occurs shortly after an unpleasant encounter with a Freddie Mercury look-alike. Rachel and Marjorie find themselves absorbed by the man's untimely death and surrounded by suspicious characters with ample motive for killing the unpopular victim.

The Chief of Security wavers between involving Rachel in the investigation and keeping her away from it. Sarah, Rachel's best friend and cruise ship nurse, is keen to keep her out of harm's way, but it's a case of the irresistible force meets the immovable object when there's a mystery to be solved. Rachel is spurred on by the incorrigible Marjorie who is keen on interfering and testing her own sleuthing skills.

Chief Waverley and Sarah are fighting a losing battle and become more and more exasperated by Rachel's involvement. In addition to this, they both have problems of their own.

As the dead man appeared to have more enemies than friends, this mystery tests Rachel to the limit. She finds herself in danger as she tries to keep Lady Marjorie safe while solving the crime.

Join the crew and passengers aboard the Coral Queen for another exciting adventure at sea!

Fun!

Okay I have all of the available stories completed and love them all. Suggestion...Just let Rachael accept the generous job offer. Then we can cruise the world over while Rachael finds trouble. I am quite serious. I feel like it would be such fun with Rachael and Sarah as roomies! This is such a great series!

Killer Cruise

This is the third cruise Rachel Prince takes. This time it is on the insistance of Lady Marjorie Snellthorpe who met in book one.
If you love cozy mysteries on cruises then this is for you.
The book makes me want to go on a cruise just without the murder or a played out one where you have to figure 'who done it.'

Nice

Another Good story with PC Rachel Prince. It also had another round of quirky, likeable characters and a killer in the midst on a cruise ship. It had humor enjoyable characters, some action, good narrating and a few other characters from the past make an appearance or two and they help her out. So, if you want a good listen, pick up a copy and enjoy.

Deadly Cruise

Will Rachel ever have a peaceful cruise? Once again Rachel has to help solve a murder on a cruise she takes. This series is very entertaining. I look forward to the next in the series.

The narrator, Alex Lee, does a great job.

I was gifted this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoyable, clean mysteey

I like Rachel and her friends. The investigation process in these mysteries are always fun to follow. This mystery around the death of an entertainer was an interesting case. Fun, clean mystery with good narration.

Thankfully, reasonable involvement with crimes

Some series have people who don’t belong in the position of investigator continue to show up in that position. This has not been that way so far, which is a relief.

There are two things that do concern me about continuing with the series though, and those are very rare mentions of god and faith, and comments about weight, phrased in ways that feel judgmental to me. I don’t want to hear the first, so luckily those are very low-key and short (though I worry they may pick up). However, I really resent hearing the second. This is a cruise ship and, while I am happy to hear she enjoys exercise and choosing her foods wisely, I don’t like her referencing weight and eating habits so often. She described (in her head) one person as “bariatric”.

I am going to keep trying though.

Narrator is not as good to me as she was in book 1–haven’t cared for her as much in books 2 and 3, but she is not really bad, just not super great.
