Candace Bushnell
In Killing Monica Bushnell spoofs and skewers her way through pop culture, celebrity worship, fame, and even the meaning of life itself when a famous writer must resort to faking her own death in order to get her life back from her most infamous creation - Monica. With her trademark wit and style, Killing Monica is Bushnell's sharpest, funniest book to date.

Featured Article: Sex and the City Character Guide
Sex and the City is an essay collection by Candace Bushnell that forever changed the cultural conversation about womanhood, relationships, and, yes, sex. Bushnell created the column "Sex and the City" for The New York Observer in 1994, and framed it as a humorous take on dating in Manhattan based on her own experiences. If that sounds familiar, you’re on the right track. Yes, it was exactly like the column Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw wrote on the hit television show Sex and the City, which made its dazzling entrance on HBO in 1998 and still hasn't left the pop culture scene.

What disappointed you about Killing Monica?
The writing, character development and overall story line were just so dull and poorly written. The whole thing felt very contrived and the "twists" were overly drawn-out. The book never really picked up steam. In fact, towards the end I kept checking my progress to see how close I was to the end as I wanted it to be over but felt I had invested too much time to quit. What could Candace Bushnell have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Better character development and a simpler but more thoughtfully written story. What character would you cut from Killing Monica?
Pandi - or at least less annoying towards the end. "Speak up already and quit dragging this thing out" is what I kept thinking by Chapter 17. Johnny Bellaga and PP for the same reasons - not only because the character was so typical/expected but because the narrator's interpretation was irritating.Skip this one even if you are a Bushnell fan

This is a dreadful thing. Do not put yourself through it. Not only is the story stupid, the characters badly drawn, the writing lazy, but also the reader has a really annoying manner of telling the story. If you quite like Candace Bushnell, as I do, you will be bitterly disappointed.
Truly terrible
