About this listen

These stories are about how, many years ago, Arthur the once and future King of England, set out to save his country from the troubles that plagued it, aided by the brave knights of the Round Table, and the most famous sword in the world, Excalibur. How Merlin the Wizard fought against the wicked Morgana le Fay's enchantments, and how Arthur loved and lost the beautiful Guinevere, his Queen.

Good quick intro to Arthur

King Arthur legends are great, but can take time getting into. My eleven year old and I listened to this over a couple of days to get the broad strokes. Now he is interested in some of the individual legends.

Classic tail

Classic tale recited by an expert actor with a British accent which improved the story telling. Medieval values, but the beginnings of the genre of courtly love which has evolved into the sexual tensions spinning in most present day movies and novels. That all began with the adulterous attraction between Lancelot and Queen Guinevere vs the honor and duty of a knight and queen.

Until Lancelot, stories were all about fighting, lineage, and dominance.

Sean Bean is simply the BEST

Would you listen to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table again? Why?

I will listen to this multiple times. It was a short but solid overview of the stories of King Arthur and his Knights! Sean Bean brings the story to life!

What does Sean Bean bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was Boromir, Odysseus and NEd Stark all over again! I bought the book simply because he narrated it, and I listened to it in one single drive! Great Narration!

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

Excellent narration!! It made the story come alive. I appreciate that the narrator was as invested in the story as I was ... he spoke with great anticipation & keen interest.

excellently done.

Well done narrative, worth buying, however the story completes it's self in a vague way, leaving supporting characters stories unfinished, plot devices are touched on and work only because they are well known.

Incredible

This is the first time I've heard the story of King Arthur, and what a treat it is. The narration is wonderful and transports you with sound and music and effects to another place. This was such a pleasure. I'm sure I'll listen again and again.
