About this listen

Landon

My life is as good as it bloody gets. I may be an Englishman, but I'm living the American dream. In Vegas I f - k who I want, when I want, and how I want. Unfortunately, my father needs to pass on the family business and doesn't think sleeping around gives me the credentials I need. I've got one week to convince him and the rest of my old-school English family that I've changed my wild ways and settled down with a "proper" girl. The problem? Claire's hiding something. Which seriously complicates things. She's supposed to help me get what I want...but my fake fiancée might just ruin it all.

Claire

Meeting Landon could be the best thing that's ever happened to me...or the worst. He's the only man I've considered sleeping with in years...which says a helluva lot. Mostly that I'm horny as heck, but also that Landon makes me feel sexy...beautiful...wanted. Things I never thought I'd feel. Not to mention he's richer than God. Or will be if I can help him for just one week, convincing his family that we're in love and not just scheming to help him inherit the family business. If the plan works, he'll pay me a quarter of a million dollars. But if he finds out who I really am, he'll call off our deal. And I can't let that happen. Not just because I desperately need the money...but because the time I spend with him makes me believe that true love might be real after all.

But Landon is a player. And I can't bear to have my heart broken. So I'm all in with the plan...but terrified that I'm about to make the biggest mistake of my life - falling in love with a man who can't be trusted.

This book is not your mama's Harlequin. Landon is a bad boy who knows what he wants, and he'll get it. And sweetcheeks, you'll love being along for the ride. In fact by the time you're done with it, you'll want to ride something yourself. Just sayin'. XO, Frankie.

So Hot

For those of you wondering if you should buy this book, I say you must. Sometimes a person needs to have a book that has some angst in it with a few twists but inevitably ends on a HEA. This is Frankie's second book in this series and both are equally rewarding at being a true feel good romance. Once in a while it is nice to have a book that is predictable in a way which allows you to really get the feel good out of the ending. I love how Frankie write her main men to be truly dedicated to their women. The men tolerate all sorts of girly issues and yet their love doesn't even skip a beat. I will absolutely re-listen to these books again on days when I need a little pick me up. Excellent narrators make it even better. Thanks to all.

Loved this story!

I'm loving this audiobook series about 4 wealthy players in Las Vegas! This story was so captivating for me that I stayed up till 4 am to finish it. There are moments of sweetness, scenes of sexy hotness and suspenseful complications. The narration was superb- Joe Arden did an AMAZING English accent and Maxine Mitchell gives so much life to her characters! Can't wait for the next one ( though I think I'll start tomorrow! Lol)

Series is far fetched but steamy.

Like Ace (Book 1), this book is far fetched (1 star removed). Sometimes disappearing into paradise is better than facing reality, which is what happens to Claire. For one night, she decides to be careless and hook up with the diamond king's son, Landon. That didn't go as planned. Landon has been living in his Vegas paradise disappearing from his own reality for so many years that he has now been summoned to return to his family's estate in England. He can't handle it alone so he offers Claire a financial deal to pretend they are engaged. The problem is she's not revealing all of her truths which could jeopardize the hoax engagement. I LOVE these narrators!!! I seek them out in new books. This is a predictable book and the conflict is solved easily and quickly. It's credit worthy for the steam factor and a wealthy travel escape. However, I'm happier I bought this at half price sale. I bought McQueen (book 3) on sale too. ;-) Soooo happy.

All Hail The King!

Well, this was an entertaining story filled with secrets on top of secrets, and a few lies to boot. While some books with plots revolving around character's having secrets can be slightly predictable, especially if the listener is aware of the secrets early on in the story, but I loved how Frankie kept the listener in suspense wondering when, and how the truth would be revealed.

Landon concocted a plan to impress, and prove to his father he was stable, mature and more capable than his brother to take over the family business. To help execute his plan, he enlisted the help of Claire to play the part of his fiancée, and pretend they have been dating, fell in love, and are ready to tie the knot. She's the perfect candidate, she smart, leveled headed, and keeps her cool. The more time they play pretend, the steamier it gets, and he starts to develop real feelings, and wants to be the man Claire deserves. Claire has been keeping secrets from her new friends, as well as Landon, but when he offers her a chance to earn some serious cash to be his pretend fiancée for a week, all she thinks about is what the money could do for her. But here's the thing about keeping secrets, they always find away to be discovered, and at the most inconvenient of times, and her skeletons won't stay in the closet forever. Her secrets will either bring them closer together or cost her a big payday.

Joe and Maxine really delivered an incredible performance! I LOVED Joe's English accent, it really showcases his talent as a narrator. Maxine always does a wonderful job with all the emotions, you could feel the anxiety, fear, and concern Claire's character had regarding her closely held secrets. Kudos for a job well done!

King was an excellent addition, and I can't wait for the rest of the "small straight" to be released in audio (Ace, King, McQueen, and Jack.....clever Frankie!) Credit or Sale; it's worth it!

So Many Secrets and Lies

Okay, so I loved this story but I have one question, how can you love someone when you don't trust them enough to tell them the most important parts of your life? That sums up the relationship between Landon and Claire. Claire is a tough nut to crack in this book, where she was the loyal friend in Aces she is quite the mystery here. Neither her friends nor her lover knew about her life at home and this made for a very intriguing story. All of Claire's secrets made for some pretty interesting plot twists. Frankie Love wrote another compelling story. Can't wait for McQueen and Jack to be released.

Is Joe Arden British or does he just sound like that to these neophyte ears of mine. He did an amazing job narrating as Landon and his British family members. Maxine Mitchell delivered another stellar performance. These two are good duo for this series.

Absolutely worth the credit. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

The King Has Arrived!

This book was awesome. Full of secret, lies and deceptions. There are twists and turns but makes the book all that much more interesting. Landon and Claire end up together in this book...each with a great outward appearance...each holding their cards close to the chest. A must read!
