Critic reviews
"The author's biting humor and skillful connection of events will keep pages turning." (Publishers Weekly)
"This dazzling novel will linger long in readers' memories." (School Library Journal)
You can't help but fall in love with the main character: his trials and mishaps that shuttle you back to the that age and his obervations that make you want to giggle behind your hand.
The narrarator captured the attitude and personality of the character and the feel of the book perfectly.
This is definately a repeat listen.

not one of the catcher cultists, but if you want your third eye open, give Catcher in the Rye a read, i had read k.d. quite a few times before i did and i laughed when i did, it adds to the experience, i promise.
don't be alarmed when it gets to the (possible) devil headed b.j.s and descriptions of tits and sex when the first page tells you exactly what's going to go down, this story is about a horny teen with a concussion so bad he can't even remember when things happened, and (keeping in mind of c.i.t.r) i have a hard time believing what is real and what is fake (in k.d.s universe, that is) maybe he's trying to make himself look better by being so good at pleasing women or maybe he's trying to put himself down more than necessary.
either way, intriguing mystery, witty dialogue, a very punchable, unlikeable (in a likeable way) narrator, just don't let 12 year olds listen to this, i would suggest 15 plus, but not a "Rated R" story, don't be a (devilhead) puritan
like what one of the blurbs say: this generations Catcher

a gem of a novel

Does it matter that I cannot, for the life of me, remember the main plot conflict or it's resolution or anything about the end of the story?
As I struggle, amused, to really dredge it out of my lame, old brain, I really can't remember.
But, I have finally recalled that he did have an epilogue that he introduced with a joke about the uselessness of an epilogue and then ran on *forever*. It's as if he was playing a practical joke. For the very first time, about half way through, I put my player on double speed. It was still too long.
Maybe that flushed the ending out of my brain. I don't know.
Still, it had fun language. Nice character interactions. A good view of the culture. You will be happy to have read it. I am.
But, take it from me. You will not be worse off if you completely skip the epilogue. I know. A shocking recommendation but, you can literally just go on to your next book and have missed nothing you care about.
A little slow but enjoyable

I guess it didn't hurt them, but rate this one R. It's not PG-13.
