About this listen

Kyle Spencer is the king of country music.
She’s the city girl, sent to talk him into returning to the stage…

Piper Egan landed her dream job straight out of college—working at Empire Records. But instead of discovering new talent and changing lives, like she’d hoped, her time is spent taking meeting notes and catering to spoiled celebrities. When the chance to change that finally appears, she should be thrilled.

Unfortunately, Piper’s promotion involves the charming cowboy she’s spent years attempting to avoid. And flying to middle of nowhere, Texas, in a desperate attempt to talk the king of country music into returning to the stage.

It’s a work trip with no boundaries. Piper is determined to head back to New York with a signed contract in hand, no matter what it takes. But that plan becomes complicated when she’s greeted by a scowl instead of Kyle’s trademark grin. Becomes challenging when she glimpses the genuine guy beneath the superstar. Becomes impossible when she learns the reason he walked away from the spotlight.

When she realizes…her only plan should have been to protect her heart.

Loved it

Loved this book. Kyle “the King of Country” wants to leave music, and Piper is sent to his Texas ranch by his music label to talk him into continuing his career. If she can sway him, she’s promised a promotion to her dream job, which is finding new talent.
I love Charlotte’s writing. She makes characters endearing but flawed, and in those flaws we can really connect to who they are. Kyle is hurt and lost and wants to change his life’s trajectory. Piper feels stagnant in her job and sees this opportunity for growth and happiness. These two together seem like they wouldn’t fit, but their time on the ranch together really lets them open up and find a connection between each other.
Their family dynamics were a great addition to the story as well. Piper’s family are all cops and can’t quite understand her love of music, but in the end family is there to support, not judge. And I loved aunt Mabel’s words of wisdom (however vague they may be).

This was dual narrated by Zachary Webber and Andi Arnt. Both are great narrators and I thought they fit the characters really well.
Highly recommend this one!

I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while now & audio was the way to do it! Zachary Webber & Andi Arndt do a great job bringing these characters to life. This book follows the King of Country Kyle Spencer, and Piper who works for his label’s company. They had run into each other a few times in the New York office, where Piper works, but being that Piper doesn’t like country music, she was not charmed by the King of Country. Awhile later, Kyle leaves the music world to go back home to Texas, and Piper is sent to bring him back to the label. Kyle is going through things personally and is just tired of the celebrity life. Piper ends up sticking around, with hopes that she can still convince him to come back to the label, but there was a reason she always avoided him when he was in the office. This is a slow burn, with tons of banter and some small town vibes.

Thank you C.W. Farnsworth & Valentine PR for the ALC!

City girl/ country boy

The king of country is leaving music and Piper is sent by his label to change his mind. Let the tension, banter and chemistry ensue.
I loved the country boy and city girl dynamic. Both Kyle and Piper were very strong characters. It had an emotional twist and it took a lot of them to work through those walls. I was enjoyable getting to know all the characters. Kyle just wanted to feel normal and Piper wanted her family to understand her passion. Loved the growth!
I love Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber. They both give such dynamic performances individually but then you combine them for this and it’s truly amazing!

I received an copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

*Audio Book Review*

Can a book be smooth? That's the overall feeling I had while listening to this book...some books have you feeling up and down and all over the place... this had mostly a smooth feeling, if that makes sense. I really enjoyed this book and this was the first book I have had the chance to listen to by C.W. Farnsworth. And much like the main female lead, Piper, I don't enjoy country music all that much, but the concept of the book caught my attention and I wanted to listen anyway and I am so glad I did. This book is a bit of a slow burn steam wise but you really don't notice or need it since the story is so rich in other areas.

The book starts out with Kyle (The King of Country Music) and Piper meeting at her work place, his record company. She is the only female there not that impressed with him. That gets his attention..along with what she is wearing that day as footwear. Fast forward a few years and he has had some life changes and wants to leave the music bossiness now that his contract is up and Piper is sent to try to change his mind, even though that is not her normal job but she is the only one available to go on short notice.

Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are the narrators and once again both are fantastic at bringing this book to life.

I was given a copy of this book to listen to and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Beautiful Love Story

4.5/5 ⭐

5.0/5 🎧

I picked up this audio on a whim and I am so happy I did. Piper and Kyle were the sweetest and I adored their love story. Kyle's unrequited infatuation with her had me swooning, especially because she had absolutely no clue. The little things you find out about his early love for her were so perfect.

I really loved the depth to this book as well. His growing up, his mom, his sister and his surprise at the end. It was all darker than I expected. Not crazy dark, but enough to give you some heavy feelings and be even more happy he finally found his own happiness in the end.

The audio was really well done. I freaking love Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt, so having them together on this one was music to my ears, quite literally. They did an amazing job narrating these characters and bringing this story to life.

Really cute! Zachary Weber is slowly becoming one of my fave narrators. I love a good cowboy romance and this was a fun twist on one because it’s a romance between a country star and a woman who works for his record label. It kind of gave Flawless vibes and we love that!!

It lacked a bit of development that really would have allowed me to completely envelope myself in the characters, found family aspect and overall plot. Despite that, I did like the book and it was a super quick read. The audiobook made it even better. Thank you to ValentinePR for the free audiobook!

Cute, cheesy, cowboys!!

If it’s about Cowboys, I’m going to read it. If it has Zachary, Webber and Andy Arndt, I’m going to listen to it. Another five stars for the narrators. I love that it was cheesy. Both characters were written so well, and the topic was addressed not too lightly and not too dark.

It all started with a pair of rain boots!💖

Piper Egan was given a mission by her record label: travel to a quaint Texas town and persuade the King of country music to return to the stage. Little did she know, her own heart would be on the line as she spent time with the stubborn Kyle Spencer.

✨Thoughts✨
The story itself had a delightful start. It all began with a pair of rain boots! It was amusing how Kyle fell for Piper, even as she insisted she disliked country music. Their love story developed gradually, just as I expected from C.W. Farnsworth's writing style. The witty banter and natural chemistry between Piper and Kyle was charming.

I must commend the exceptional dual narration delivered by Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber. Their performances truly brought these characters to life.

Overall, if you're seeking a lighthearted audiobook, this one will surely bring you joy. It's a perfect choice for readers who adore small-town romances with good banter.

Special thanks to Valentin PR and the author for providing me with this ALC.

amazing narration & fun story

this was so fun!! this one has two of my all time fave narrators and they absolutely never disappoint! i really loved the small town vibes of this one. i thought the concept of the biggest country singer wanting to retire and the label sending out someone to convince him otherwise was so fun.

i don’t usually love pop-star books but this one had such a different vibe. kyle was so closed off and adamant about not wanting to resign with his label and wanting to just retire while piper was afraid to lose her job is she couldn’t convince him to resign. i loved getting to see kyle’s life in the small town and learn more about his friends. i think it really highlighted how kyle is just a normal guy vs this huge star everyone else sees him as. he opened up about how he could never tell if someone liked him for him or because he was famous and i think it was done in such a humanizing way that the reader was able to understand exactly what he meant.

piper feels a little lost but also knows she loves music. she was a good balance to kyle while she stayed with him for a little bit. i loved getting to see their relationship develop organically!

this book had the perfect ending for their story too!
