About this listen

It's supposed to be a happy day at the Magic Kingdom—the return of the teenaged holographic hosts. But things go very wrong when a sudden lightning storm disrupts the celebration, and Amanda's mysterious sister, Jez, disappears. The only clue is the sighting of a wild monkey in the Magic Kingdom during the storm. The mystery deepens as Finn is contacted by Wayne, an old man he hasn't heard from in months. Wayne tells Finn that there's trouble at the Animal Kingdom: the evil Overtakers have gained control of one of the computer servers that will be used to operate Daylight Holographic Imaging there. That means that if any of the holographic hosts fall asleep, they will go into comas—permanently.

Filled with action and brimming with the same meticulous detail as The Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark, this second book in the series—Kingdom Keepers II: Disney at Dawn—is the result of hands-on research behind the scenes at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Young and older listeners alike will get a glimpse into a second Disney kingdom. The wild rides have only just begun; and the clock is ticking. How long can the teens keep themselves awake in their quest to find their friend—and what happens if they fail?

Overall the story itself and the narration is great! These books are a huge part of my childhood, it’s fun to go back. However there are large chunks where there’s just missing audio. Chapters are cut short at random. It can be a little frustrating, but thankfully it’s still possible to understand the story even with the missing sections. Hopefully the audio will be fixed/reuploaded!

Great Book, Corrupted Audio

I love this book and the story. Narrator does a great job. But the editing is off. It is missing half a chapter two and now I am on chapter eighteen and it has jumped again. These are the two I have noticed so far. But it cuts out some big pieces and leaves you confused. Thankfully I have the book sitting here because I intended to sit down to read. So I can fill it in. But the editor needs to go back and listen to the whole book. Hope it can be fixed so I can give 5 stars the story deserves.

Missing half of chapters.

chapter 2 and 18 so far are missing half the chapter. I like the narrator and the story but the missing chapters are making me sad

I’m not finished with this book yet but have encountered two chapters that have cut off before complete. In the middle of a sentence it goes to the next chapter. WTF?! I ordered these because of the Disney connection and the first book was good. This one is just irritating if every few chapters are going to be cut short. I hope the other books in the series don’t do this. Whoever edited this book did NOT do a good job.

Was revisiting this series from my childhood that I absolutely LOVE. Unfortunately, a few of the chapter are cut short and missing audio.

Book and narration were both great, but unfortunately it skips some spots throughout the book. Chapters 2 and 18 have the most noticeable skips, but I think there are others towards the end of the book as well.

Skipping chapters?

Ch 2 and Ch 18 missing like half the chapters.

Not a critique, but a heads up bc I wasn’t aware, but there was a rewrite of this book in 2020 to include the World of Pandora in the Animal Kingdom. I hadn’t read the books in like 12 years so I was unaware of this change, and it was jarring to hear lol.

Also, Philby is supposed to have an accent, mentioned in the first book. It’s not mentioned in this one, so I can understand how this mistake happened. However it’s also jarring going from first book to second book listening and suddenly this character doesn’t have an accent.

Collyers’ performance was ok however he was missing the accent of one of the main characters which Andrews was able to pull off amazingly IMO.

Bring back the old narrator.
