About this listen

It's a job that makes a killing. Efficient, professional, and without apology, Lily Mansfield is a hired assassin, working as a contract agent for the CIA. Her targets are the powerful and corrupt, those who can't be touched by the law.

Now, after 18 years of service, Lily has been drawn into a dangerous game that hasn't been sanctioned, seeking vengeance for her own reasons. Each move bolder than the next, she is compromising her superiors, drawing unwanted attention and endangering her very life. Though stress and shock have made her feel somewhat invincible and a little cocky, Lily knows that she too can be taken out in an instant. And if it's her time, so be it. She intends to go down fighting.

A CIA agent himself, Lucas Swain recognizes the signs of trauma in the line of fire. His orders are to either bring her in or bring her down. Yet he too is drawn into the game with Lily Mansfield, dancing on a tightrope as he tries to avoid a major international incident while still battling a tenacious foe who is dogging their every step.

Keeping laser focus on her task at hand while vigilantly watching her back, Mansfield never sees the lethal peril that lies directly in her path...and how loyalty has a price.

Nice read..

Any additional comments?

I'm really not sure how I felt about this book. It seemed rather wordy at times and a little boring but over all I guess it was good. I liked Lily but I wasn't crazy about Swain's voice. He seemed kind of idiotic sometimes. I thought this was suppose to be a romantic/suspense but the two didn't even meet until about 48% of the book. Then there was a couple of kisses until about 75% then it was just like marathon sex. Not very romantic as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, Mr.Hill did a fantastic job on so many voices it was just amazing. I would definitely like to listen to him again. And Ms. Bean did an excellent job too. This is the first time I've listened to two narrators and I absolutely loved it.

Great narration!

This was so worth a credit. The story is good, but what makes it really great is the amazing narration. Such a great performance with all the accents and different characters.

Male narrator sounds like an old old man.

Story line was very good. Female narrator was wonderful. Male narrator didn’t fit the subject. He sounds like a man in his sixties or seventies.

Kill Me While I Sleep

Fascinating spy/ assassination story of a CIA agent going rogue in order to kill the man who murdered her friends and their twelve year old daughter, only to find out the reasoning behind the heynis act was due to a much bigger and broader terror.Field agent Lucas Swayne was to find Lily(the CIA agent)and bring her in only to find out that there was more to this mystery and this assassin,so he decides to aid her in her search for clues and justice,To put a stop to the thing that killed her friends and daughter from killing millions of other innocent people.I loved the male and female narrators swapping their characters effortlessly.Very good teamwork on their part.

Dated, but still fun.

Reading these older books, even 20 years, you can pick up how far we have come with racism and especially equality of the sexes. And thank heavens. It was little things that stood out. The MFC was a bad ass but completely repressed. It's amazing she wasn't provided psychological support and care until after 20 years on the job. The character building was a little shallow in favor of the story progression. I disliked the male narrator, he wasn't right for the character, but the female narrator was fine.

CIA hitwoman Lily is now the TARGET~ 5 STAR

CIA hitwoman Lily carries out her revenge on a well planned hit~ but she is NOW the TARGET.

well done~ 5 STAR ~ Lily carrying out a revenge hit and the details in her ESCAPE are what make this fun. first half is the escape and the second part is her being hunted and found by Lucas Swain~ the CIA operative who is supposed to get rid of her. Together they find a PANDEMIC is being planned. Together they target the baddies lab and avoid the hitmen who are also on Lilys back. excellent READERS...... moves along well. Both female and male readers add to the story.

unique narration!

I love this but there were different narration is going on. There was a female voice for female characters in a male voice for male characters and all of them had different accents and I just loved it. The storyline was good I guess most of what was going on but then she had me II thinking a little bit. entertaining worth the read
