Blackout! The entire Southeast was without power...but there was still more than enough electricity between Elizabeth Major and Tom Quinlan! They were stranded together in a Dallas high rise for the duration...and setting off enough sparks to light up the darkest night.

Elizabeth Major is a woman with a secrets of her own. Avoiding any kind of man who can 'control her'....she allows HUNKY Tom Quinlan close enough to date. a night of passion flares (5 times in one night).....LOL....... When Elizabeth finds out "security expert" Tom had her investigated..... She dumps him and avoids him. When they become trapped in the BLACKOUT ....Tom is still looking for answers. An abusive marriage has Tom learning the key to Elizabeth is a matter of trust. HOT and sensual describes this audiobook by Linda Howard. A FAST 3 hour audio. Lesa Lockford is one of the better Dreamscape readers. This one does not disappoint. I give it 4 stars for Performance, and a fun and fast HOT story by the wonderful Linda Howard.

Thanks Audible for giving premium members different ways to listen or buy. Love 2021 $1 dollar sale.
Boy the old days were pretty Chauvinist and authors like Ms Howard were great at writing stories of the times. This classic is much of the same as Heaartbreaker, just a bit updated. Make sure you check the original publish date when you see lots of poor reviews at those reviewers purchased without knowing they were getting a classic pure core romance of those days past.
Were my comments of help?

Not okay.
Published originally in 1993, so changing times account for some (most?) of it- but I would not recommend it to anyone in 2022… no redeeming qualities IMO
Narrator was good, but story sucked
Yikes

ALTHOUGH I LOVE LINDA HOWARD'S BOOKS, I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID THE PRICE FOR THIS ONE. IT WAS MY OWN FAULT FOR NOT READING THE TIME.TOO SHORT

Spoilers:
This is about a woman getting past an abusive, Sleeping With the Enemy style, husband. Unfortunately, the new love interest is just as bad. The number of times Tom steamrolls over Elizabeth is blatantly toxic. Elizabeth repeatedly lies to herself that he’d stop if she asked him to, but that just makes clear she still can’t spot an unhealthy relationship. The author protests too much, calling it “making love” while it’s actually him manhandling her and constantly shoving in with one powerful thrust, making this a completely unsexy, troubling listen. And, the “joke” at the end is that his plan B had been to abduct her in order to make her accept him.
