About this listen

New York Times bestselling author J. Sterling brings you a steamy workplace romance about falling for your boss when it’s strictly forbidden.

I’ve had a crush on my co-worker Declan since the day I started working at Rockline Studios. Trust me, if you could see this man, you’d have a crush on him too.

It’s been two years since my first day of work … two years since my head has been filled with fantasies and daydreams about the things I could do to him. Two years of … SITTING BY AND DOING NOTHING because dating within the office is forbidden, frowned upon, something we’re not supposed to do.

The night of Rockline’s infamous New Year’s Eve party changes everything.

Will my new years wish finally come true?

Great Short Story

In this book we have a couple that doesn't realize they could have it all if they just took a chance. The ups and downs will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would recommend it to anyone

Short & Sweet

Great tension for only two hours, and a hot sex scene at the end. What more could you ask? Narration was great!

Holiday Romance

This was a cute office romance. It was short but full of tension and spice.

A lovely NYE story!!!

I did enjoy this book but I have to agree with the another reviewer with Ms. Peachwood doing the accent for Declan and Mr. Mission not....that is honestly the only thing I didn't like which is why performance gets four stars. This was my first time hearing C.J. Mission and I have to say I enjoyed his voice. Savannah was wonderful as always.

The story itself is super cute. Two co-workers who have been crushing on each other for two years but each knows office romances are forbidden. It is a novella so of course it is going to seem like insta-love which I was totally ok with.

I have now listened to two audios in this series and they are short enough for me to finish in one day and I cannot wait to listen to more of them.

Good light read or listen!

But I have to say when it is her turn to read and she talks for him… why does she make him sound like the Godfather?

I got this as a palate cleanser

between two 49 hour books! And it served its purpose. This novella was light and totally angst free. It’s basically two hours and five minutes of two coworkers silently yearning for each other. It's written in dual POV with a hot inner monologue. I really liked how privately proprietary the hero was, he thought of the heroine as ‘his’ long before she was. It ends with a solid sex scene. My only complaint was the last 12 minutes. I expected a fairytale quality HEA, instead I got stilted conversation, doubts, and postcoital fears. The info dump epilogue tries to smooth it over, but maybe it was just lust? 😬

Crude and unbelievable

Three strikes took this out for me.
1. Language: I can be down for a well placed F bomb, but this had way too many casual cuss words by two supposedly professional office workers.
2. Narration: Ms. Peachwood gives Declan this Boston accent, but Mr. Mission gives Declan zero accent;
it was like two separate stories. Additionally, Ms. Peachwood makes her sound so fragile.
3. Credibility: Really? They haven’t said boo to each other in two years and the minute they finally confess their attraction its office sex and then professions of eternal love? His light speed switch to thinking of her as his woman also felt very out-of-touch caveman, not to mention out of nowhere.
