About this listen

The world will burn as the broken remnant of the old Empire awakens from its slumber. Its armies are on the march as it seeks to restore all that was lost.

Reinfried dreams of glory as he travels south to the Republic of Antenor with his uncle, a legendary fencing master, in search of adventure. They reach the Golden City only to mistakenly foil the assassination of a princess from Visaria. She is a survivor from the unstoppable horde invading her homeland. Legions of soldiers march to war behind a banner not seen in a thousand years.

The fearless Princess Ikarae rallies an unlikely band of heroes to help save Visaria. Franz von Müller and Reinfried are the first, soon joined by Henry Hawkins, the suave arms dealer with a ship filled with incredible war machines; Captain Harlac, a skilled sailor and privateer; and Adept Uriel, a mysterious eyeless praetor with the power to harness the natural world to deadly effect.

In the style of incredible fantasy epics like Game of Thrones, The Witcher, and The Lord of the Rings comes a story filled with warring kingdoms, incredible creatures, powerful magicks, and a rising empire that seeks to destroy all in its path. Knights of Visaria is the first novel in the epic War Masters series that will see the remnants of the old Empire rise once more. 100,000 words of war, romance, and adventure!

Surprisingly Good!

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. I've always read and listened to Michael G Thomas's Sci-Fi novels and was worried about his style translating to fantasy. Turns out I had no reason to worry! Characters were likeable and memorable. The characters that you are meant to see as antagonistic you also become attached to their part of the story and I feel that is where this novel truly shined.

Fantasy, Action, and Adventure

I enjoyed this story a lot. I admired the world-building which was developed and complicated. I followed the travails of the characters intently, which included dangerous moments and epic battles. The almost non-stop action kept my attention engaged. I was pleased with the surprising events which changed the flow of the story. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I was entertained by Nathan Lujan's narration which enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this story.
