Publisher's summary

Jasmine has always known that life wasn't fair. It wasn't fair that all her hard work keeping a home wasn't appreciated. It wasn't fair that none of that time counted as "experience," but she was desperate, so she had to take whatever there was. Stepping off the bus, she reminded herself that life didn't have to be fair, but it did have to be survived. As soon as she laid eyes on the handsome man who answered the door, she remembered something she'd suppressed for a long time: life had its sunny moments as well.

Knox Ryker didn't really like this whole idea of getting a housekeeper. Yes, five guys living together could take its toll on a place. Yes, Dax's new girlfriend had a point: it was a pig sty. But having a stranger come over to root through your things just didn't feel right. But once he laid eyes on Jasmine, he had feelings of a totally different sort.

Improved writing and narration

Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5
Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥
Narrator Performance: 🎧🎧🎧🎧. 5

KNOX is the second short story in Becca Fanning’s 120 Proof Honey series. What’s kinda interesting about it is that both the story and the narration improved with this installment. That’s not always the case in a series.

Whereas there’s nothing extra special about Knox and Jasmine as a couple I simply adored how their relationship progressed. It was easy and straightforward, something that Jasmine sorely needed. I appreciated that Knox unknowingly showed Jasmine how safe a woman can feel with the right partner. I got the impression that that wasn’t something she had experienced in her past 😉

Another thing that I enjoyed about this shorty was the details. There were only a few minor things missing. Despite it being short the reader got a believable background on Jasmine. Although things weren’t exactly spelled out the author wrote enough info to paint a rather complete picture. With that the conflict within the plot was set up perfectly.

There was a noticeable difference in Meghan Kelly‘s performance of this story compared to the one she gave for book #1, DAXTON. While I liked that performance I must admit that there was improvement in this one. Her acting was apparent in her delivery of the words. There was emotion in her voice. She easily brought to mind the image of Jasmine as she began to take charge of her life. Plus on top of that Kelly made sure to differentiate the guys with different voices. I love when a narrator does that.

I am loving this series.

Short, sweet and one heck of a treat. Jasmine has had it rough, what with an ex that resembles the south end of a northbound mule, and no job experience. Knox wasn’t thrilled with the notion of a housekeeper, but the house would be in contention for pig sty of the year and he needed Jasmine. Then, need turned into want and the rest is history. Short, sweet and a real treat with fantastic narration.

Great continuation of the 120 Honey Proof Series!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you like shifter romance with big cuddly bears you will love this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Knox?

When Knox is protecting his mate. I will not give anything away, but I really love it in a book when a hero gets all protective.

Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have come to really love Ms. Kelly's performances of all of the books I have listened to.

Any additional comments?

I love shifter romance and you obviously like it as well, or you would not be reading reviews of this spectacular book. I really loved this book. There is romance, and suspense as well. The book is very well written, and the story starts coming to life from the very beginning.
Jasmine is running from her ex-husband, and looking for a job. Her problem, she does not have any work experience outside running a home. She goes on an interview to be housekeeper for Knox and his clan. You see, Knox and his clan, well, they are slobs when it comes to the upkeep of their home, they realized this and have decided to hire a housekeeper. Jasmine arrives for her interview and knocks on the door. When the door open she sees the most handsome man she has ever seen, Knox.
Knox does not like the idea of a stranger going through their home, but realizes that something has to be done, the place really is turning into a pigsty. When he opens to door to the person coming to interview for the job… Let us just say he changes his mind really quickly.
I am not going to give anything further away, but I will say I loved when Knox got all protective of Jasmine when her ex showed.
This is the second book in Ms. Fanning’s 120 Proof Honey series, and just as great as the first, Daxton. I look forward to more from this wonderful series in the future.
I was gifted with an audio copy of Knox by Meghan Kelly, the narrator. She definitely further brings this book to life with her performance.

Knox

Jasmine was a strong woman and showed strength of character. She did what she had to to make her life better. Her ex was an abusive animal. Knox was an honest character and I admired him. Suspenseful and romantic. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.
