Publisher's summary

Section K Replication Alluthan Clone, or Krac as he is now called, has one focus in his life: protect the descendants of the Freedom Five who rule Earth's council. Things become personal when insurgents target a special member of the Freedom Five, Gracie Jones-Jefe and her family. When Violet Jefe is kidnapped, Krac swears to do everything he can to bring the precocious little girl, who is the image of her mother, home safely and kill those who took her.

Captain "Skeeter" Lulu Belle Mann lives a life of freedom drifting from spaceport to spaceport in her short-haul freighter looking for unusual treasures to add to her collection of mismatched prizes. On the Pyrus space station, she finds two treasures she has to have! One is the new navigation module she desperately needs, and the other is a curly haired little girl with big green eyes that melts her heart. Never one to be denied what she really wants, Skeeter buys the first and steals the second.

When sources lead Krac to the Lulu Belle, he finds more than he expects - a woman who fires his blood almost as much as she draws it. Krac's hands and life are suddenly overflowing; he has to capture the woman who is driving him crazy, protect little Violet, and keep them alive long enough to deliver one home and the other to his bed. But someone else has targeted Skeeter and the Lulu Belle, and they are just as deadly as Krac. Can he protect the feisty firebrand that has captured his heart, or will he lose the only thing he has ever cared about to another of his kind?

I love SE Smith books

I loved this book and the new series. My only issue is I felt that the book ended without giving an idea of a future for the couple. Perhaps there will be more about them in the coming series titles😉

Krac And Skeeter

This is a wonderful story of a very uninhibited human and the man she sees in the “monster”. It is really funny to hear this huge assassin learn about sex from a very funny light hearted redhead. This truly is their own love story. I recommend it for its light story and definitely the humor. There is a wonderful message about perception and belief, thanks to the red head little orphan who believed in dragons of rescue. You will love this story.

My Favorite S.E. Smith book

I love this book Krac & Skeeters adventure with Violet and Frog I’ve listened to this book many times just so I can have a good laugh. However I wish there was a story for seal and the story plot that was left at the end of the book, I’ve picked up words from other of Smiths books and wonder how much or if at all these books intertwin with her others series. Overall best book ever !

Derailed series

Smith writes a type of light romantic scifi-action-adventure-suspense that I enjoy as a time out from the “real world“. (I really enjoyed her original Valdier series.) In that genre, she tends to do a good job of creating likable characters in an interesting world; and with “bad guys” and action that fits within the world she has created.
This book appears to me to be an exception. The story escalates the number of loose ends so you’re not sure where she’s coming from - or going to; and evil menace to a level that’s paralyzing within those possibilities. There’s no lightly outlined trail that would fit within the story, series, or genre. You’re left with no real happy story ending or expectation of where the series arc might be going. Oh well.

I enjoyed book 1, Gracie’s Touch, and I thought Krac was an interesting character, so I was happy to see more of him. And some more of Gracie and Kordon.
Lulubelle starts out as a fun, campy character but ends up not fitting in with the menace of the plot. Her intelligence was not developed enough to believe she would be a good match for Krac.
Our glimpse of Violet Jefe at the end of book 1 told us what a strong willed little girl she is. But as young as she is, she would still be traumatized by her kidnapping and the abuse she would have suffered. As evil as Smith painted the kidnappers, she would have been abused. No question.
The Medic is so over emphasized and, instead of being caring, seems to exude a kind of menace.
The Zion Warriors had potential as a series, but I can’t imagine how Smith can rescue it.
Overall, I’m not going to count her out, as Smith is very creative;-)
Brenin does his usual good job of narration.

I am not a MONSTER!

What did you love best about Krac’s Firebrand?

I just love these two. Krac would be a great dad. Him and Violet has such an amazing relationship with one another. I am so glad that Gracie seen what no other has seen in him and made him part of the family. I do love Lulu Belle as well. She is so much fun.

Now Seal... Where to start with him? I feel as though someone has ALOT of explaining to do when it comes to Maggie.

Not completed

This was a great story...only problem ...the story has not been completed. It ends on a new mission and not next book. If that does not bother you...get this one. I however am pissed off. Thanks for nothing on the rest of the series.

Beautifully read Sci-fi romance

David Brennan did a fabulous job narrating this wonderful sci-fi romance by S E Smith. Listening to the story brings additional enjoyment of the book than reading it alone does. Beautifully done.
