About this listen

"We need to blend in with the Earthlings."

Thats what Rade had told the siblings. They needed to blend in; just another ship of human castaways. That was the plan anyway, and it had lasted exactly two days. Now, Vicheu are disappearing and something eerie waits in the shadows.

Review "Lachesis"

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”
Zachary Johnson has given us a five star performance in his narration of Autumn Warren's book "Lachesis". I love the way you feel the emotion of the characters and the different accents and voices that make it easy to follow.

Great Series

Any additional comments?

Great addition to the series. This is one of those series that is fantastic but no seems to know about it. This story is well written, entertaining and very enjoyable just like the previous books.

The whole series is creative, original and highly entertaining. This is definitely not a stand alone story. You really need to read the series in order to understand everything that has/is going on. It's worth it.

Action, political intrigue, mental abilities, suspense, betrayal and more.

The Vicheu can hear the thoughts of everyone around them. They are never completely alone in their own minds. Nikolas being the most powerful among them can even feel when someone close to him is hurt or in physical pain.

Even though Nikolas has been rescued, is now safe and back with his family things are not good. He constantly relives the torture and pain he endured at the hands of the Skillians. Now posing as humans and hiding from their enemies they should be safe. Things are not as they seem though. The Vicheu are being stalked and one by one and disappearing. Marco, Nikolas, Rade and the rest of their group are searching for clues to who is hunting the Vicheu to stop them before anyone else can disappear.

Zachary Johnson did a fantastic job with the narration once again. Nice voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Good character voices. Clearly spoken with a smooth even pace.Great effects for the mind speaking. You can feel all the emotions of the characters. He brought the story to life with all the different elements he put into the narration. Very enjoyable.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator of publisher.

"... claws scraping against the stone."

Any additional comments?

Something evil is coming ...
Even though he has been rescued, returned to his family, Nikolas still lives in the hell of his dreams. But in his waking hours he barely feels. He has killed, yes, but is he also a murderer of innocents? The most powerful of them all, his telepathic abilities bring him headaches, his anger can often only be dampened by twin brother, Marco and yet, like all of the Vicheu, he has to hide his kinetic and other gifts just as he needs to hide the scars which cover his face and his body. Plus he is bullied by the pathetic little humans, not recognising his strength, but who, nevertheless still depend on the Vicheu to keep them safe. Somehow, trying to fit in just doesn't seem to be working; and other forces are out to get him, the Vicheu and everyone else.

Another exciting and action filled book from Autumn Warren set in a world peopled by numerous complex characters where morality is sometimes a movable feast, or, as one of them comments, there is "no right or wrong...This is fun.". Sadly for everyone, most others would not agree with her ideas of a good time.

But fun, of a harrowing type, is what this book is. With numerous, often complex characters appearing thick and fast, it certainly helps to have read the preceding two books to make sense of who, what and why they are. But not essential as the forward motion and almost non stop action propels the reader forward at an impressive speed. Zachary Johnson's narration also helps enormously to disentangle the different protagonists with his distinctive voicings - I especially enjoyed his English accented Devon. His fast paced reading is also clear and pleasant to hear as he matches the rapid moving text. Difficult not to be caught up in the unusual fight scenes and horrendous entrapments which threaten the lives of nearly everyone.

A good, action science fiction novel, I was most fortunate in being gifted a copy of Lachesis, the third of the Vicheu Chronicles, by the rights holder, via Audiobook Boom. My thanks for this. For sheer originality alone I would recommend this to all SF.fans. But it is more: it is a story of illusion, evil and betrayal, loyalty, love, self loathing and service, all wrapped together with good dialogue and action, action, action. Recommended.
