However, soon enough the tedium of provincial life threatens to send him packing until, that is, he finds a dead stablehand and sleepy community's world is upturned. Ngaio at her usual-among the best!

This late contribution in the Alleyn series does not disappoint. We find Troy and Roddy's son, Ricky, embroiled in murder and drug running, although he just wants to write his book and admire Julia, the wife of a friend on whom he has a crush. The Inspector and B'rer Fox arrive to solve the mess. Alleyn is one of my favorite tecs-a gentleman in all ways and intelligent and kind. "Sigh!" Do not fear to venture here, dear reader...May your day be a blessed one.
