About this listen

This is a story of America! An older man, near the end of his days, sees his way of life and the code he follows in danger of disappearing. A younger man, on the brink of a new beginning, cannot embrace it without confronting the traumas of his past. And a maniac is intent on destroying them both.

Bonds are formed, secrets exposed, sacrifices made, trusts betrayed - all against a breathtaking American landscape of promise and peril. Three unforgettable characters, hurtling toward a spellbinding climax where pasts and futures collide and lives hang in the balance.

As a kid, I’ve always loved the railroads. And any western that had a railroad in it. I even I won one time in 1947 Lionel railroad set that we would set up every Christmas. It took me two weeks. It was a very large set up. I dreamed of riding lol the rails then. And I truly enjoyed this book. By my friend, Ed Davis. It took me back to dreams. And then it took me with it along the rails as I listened.

Capturing the imagination of the railroads

I putchased this book because my grandfather (born in 1874) had told me stories of him and his friends catching freight trains to get around when he was a young man and I wanted to learm more. This book is much more than that. I will never think of hoboes in the same way again.

Unexpected great story
