About this listen

The second installment of the riveting new thriller series by former Green Beret and USA Today best-selling author Jason Kasper

"David Rivers is back with a vengeance...and the stakes have never been higher." (Steven Konkoly, USA Today best-selling author of the Ryan Decker series)

After the largest terrorist attack in US history is narrowly foiled, the sole enemy survivor has only one name to provide his interrogators: Ghulam Samedi, a fugitive hiding in the rugged mountains of China’s Xinjiang Province.

As part of the CIA’s newly minted targeted killing program, David Rivers and his team are tasked with assassinating Samedi.

But once they are inside China, there will be no backup, no air support, and no escape - only a handful of local assets with dubious motivations. The location is known for its opium smugglers, violent separatist movement, and heavy deployment of Chinese secret police.

Which is exactly why Rivers’ team of former mercenaries was assembled for this covert operation. They are unilateral, unattributable, and if things go wrong, utterly expendable.

As Rivers embarks on his most challenging mission yet, he will stop at nothing to hunt down Samedi…the last target standing between him and a sinister conspiracy with global implications.

I love everything Jason Kasper puts out and this book was no exception. My only issue with the book was the narration. I don't mean it as a knock against Cory M. Snow- as his voice and reading style were fine. The voice just doesn't match David Rivers or his team in my opinion.

Great Book

Thoroughly entertaining with twists that are plausible. Of course it helps that the author has some real world experience in this realm.

Jason keeps getting better

I liked the plot. I suppose it reflects reality in the CIA and covert operations, but I think that Duchess could be less critical and more of a team player.

Good Story, Solid Characters

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Nonstop action and suspension. Never resting and always building a great story with great and intriguing characters.

Great plot building and climax.

This book series gets better with every novel. Building on each one. It makes you want to get to the next one. I wonder what’s gonna happen next. Just the way it should be.

Entertainment

Really like the storyline. Makes me really feel extremely grateful and appreciate our armed forces the more I read about special ops teams. Heroes- every one of them.

Suspenseful

Lots of action sequences ... but they seemed repetitive .... Could have spent time building characters...

Lots of Action

Educational, great character development and a fun listen. Sometimes the reader sounded mechanical but it could have been intentional.

Really, Really Enjoyed

The entire book was enjoyable and Kaspar's writing is superb. The story just seemed drag a bit.
