Raw, cutting edge look at inclusive strategy

Pairing this listen with the resources available through Julie's website has allowed me a stronger confidence in my work as an ally within my own workplace. Lead Like an Ally challenged my assumptions and provided me a chance to review my behavior with past coworkers in terms of my leadership approaches. Julie's storytelling is easy to digest and realistic, as are her resources and advice. I would strongly recommend both this book and the associated website resources to leaders and growth-driven executives. Inclusive practices must be at the forefront of business as we move forward to the next normal.

A must read for everyone

Love the structure of the book: presented material, story-rich and filled with data points and evocative “candid conversations” with specific suggestions on how to engage. I’ve needed this book! Oddly, the last story in the book says (paraphrasing) I don’t want my daughter to have to wait till she’s 67 to experience equality. I just passed that year. If only I had experienced it before now. Well, the equality jury is still out, trying to decide what to have for lunch. But it’s a whole lot better than the days when the telephone techs would call up their buddies when someone had on a low cut blouse. Still. The rate of pay hovers right around 78 cents for n the dollar for white women compared with a white man doing the same job. And I’m hearing rumblings that affirmative action might go away. (And … just take a step back little lady, and don’t bother your pretty little head about it.) Anyway. Thanks for this interesting, purposeful, and useful work. I streamed through it, listening on Audible and reading on Kindle so I could highlight and leave notes. Now I want to read it all again!

Great tips on inclusive leadership over a personal narrative that hits home

An excellent and easy to digest approach to modern and inclusive leadership with practical tools to improve personal performance and team performance. I enjoyed the lighthearted approach to a lot of familiar situations and the relative ‘easy reading’ style applied to this important topic.
