Publisher's summary

Many people ask for advice on how to start a business—but rarely how to succeed in business. Charles McCarrick, founder of Micro-Ant, suggests starting with the question: Why do you want to go into business?

These chapters, childhood stories, and cartoons describe his journey of employing the toolbox of traits that make Charles who he is and, in turn, built his entrepreneurial success. Woven with life lessons full of turkeys and toilets, Charles shares his 4S process to create business success with the fuel of your character. If you are determined to run your own business, despite lacking any previous experience, this book is for you. You’ll discover that you already possess the pieces to build your own success.

Inspiring, practical and entertaining

This was a very entertaining book of business lessons. Several chapters were very practical, like the one on Program Management. The chapter on strategy and planning was very engaging and inspiring - I listened to it several times to help me write my department plan for next year. the narrator did a good job switching between serious topics and the humorous stories.

A worthwhile read for managers.

What sets this book apart is that the author has real experiences he draws from and case studies from his businesses that he shares in depth. It's an honest look at all the ways that people can mismanage a company. I'm glad I read this when it came out and recommend it to anyone who wants a more engaging and experience based self-help book on topics of entrepreneurship, management, and team culture. Very good narrator.

Entertaining Book Laying Foundations of a Business

Both Insightful and Hilarious this book takes you through a roller coaster of real life scenarios and lessons gleaned form each harrowing tale of Charlie and his brothers. I particularly enjoyed reading and learning about how large an impact culture has upon a business. One 180° decision can make a business go from good to great, see it all spiral down, or worse do nothing at all. While I thoroughly enjoyed the hardback, the narration by Mr. Grupper really brings the hilarity of the personal stories to light. A "must listen" for any startup entrepreneur!
