About this listen

A tale of mentorship, hard truths, and the path to success

In this fictional account of an entrepreneur's rollercoaster ride to the top, Cap Treeger crafts a series of dynamic, well-drawn lessons for anyone that wants to start or build a business. The hero of the story, Ren, is fired up with ambition and has a strategic dream in place to build his own startup from the ground up, but he has a lot to learn about how this particular sector of the business world works. Fortunately, Ren has the guidance of generous and invested mentors, and their sound recommendations and warnings are chronicled as Ren makes decision after decision. With their advice, as well as his own encounters with trial and error, he discovers that who he chooses to employ and partner with, and how he engages with them, makes all the difference.

Ren's journey guides listeners through numerous factors necessary for success, including building a solid team with strategic placement of individuals in carefully selected roles appropriate to their skill sets and crafting the all-important business model. Ren navigates the daunting process with grace and hands listeners an account loaded with insight—rendering Finding the Way, told in a straightforward and listener-friendly manner, a valuable gem amidst business-building literature.

I used this book as a “recipe” for success. The thought process, the hard work, and the steps to reach success from this book can be applied to any form of work or life. You don’t need the next technology break or product to gain something from this book, but use it as a guideline to apply to your business or life. In the beginning of the book I caught myself thinking the same thoughts as Ren, thinking I was battling against time and fear of missing out. Building a business takes TIME and you need to lean on others for advice. This book inspired me to reach out to as many mentors as possible simply for their knowledge, not for a job or to “get something out of them” I just wanted wisdom from those who have been there and done that. As someone in the sales industry this book doubled down on the principle that people buy from who they like, be a likable person, and bring value. Again, use these lessons from the book to apply to your current situation. For anyone looking to be an entrepreneur this book is your first step to achieving your goal.

It’s like sitting at the breakfast table, eavesdropping on conversations with a young business titan and his mentors and partners. Every entrepreneur should read this book.

A priceless gem

There was so much fluff in the book I couldn’t get past the third chapter.
I quit on this one.

Couldn’t finish

It's a business book that reads like a story, full of suggestions of what a starting entrepreneur should do but without offering much alternatives or insights why the suggested methods can be worthwhile. It made it hard to hold my attention, so I decide to spend my time on something else after I got 1/3 into the book. Returned this one.

Too much meandering and elaboration to be practical
