Let My Daughter Go

Everyone thought the mass shooting was over. But then, a blip on the screen....

Rogan Sneed is spending life in prison for the mass shooting he committed at Pioneer Square in Portland, Oregon. The copycat shooter who attempted a similar attack on the anniversary of the event is dead. Time has passed. Wounds are healing. But then a blip on the screen. A teenage girl is kidnapped in Portland. Her diary says there may still be someone out there who helped plan the original attack that killed 21 innocent people. A local plumber is a person of interest in the girl’s disappearance, but Portland PD Detective Wayne Deetz believes something much more catastrophic is simmering beneath the surface. Close to retirement and still struggling to tame the demons of his anxiety, Deetz is forced to explore the chilling underworld to which he vowed he’d never return. But when a daughter's life is at stake, vows are broken - and demons are crushed.

With tension in every scene, Amazon number-one best-selling author Creston Mapes demonstrates why he is a "top pick" among mystery, fiction and thriller lovers. Fans of Frank Peretti, Terri Blackstock, Ted Dekker, Joel Rosenberg, Lynette Eason, Susan Sleeman, Colleen Coble, and Christy Barritt will love this thriller from award-winning and best-selling author Creston Mapes.

Reviews

"From the first page to last, I was absolutely riveted with Let My Daughter Go, the latest thriller by Creston Mapes. While investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl, Detective Wayne Deetz once again finds himself face to face with the suffocating tentacles of evil that almost destroyed him in Portland's mass shooting two years prior. I devoured Deetz's story, reading at breakneck speeds thanks to the author's superb pacing and non-stop twists and turns. Could not put it down!" (Diane Moody, best-selling author)

"A thriller with heart, Let My Daughter Go follows tenacious Detective Wayne Deetz through a fast-moving storm of kidnappings and vengeance. His fight for justice turns personal when criminals drag his naïve and vulnerable daughter into a treacherous game that threatens to foil his unrelenting pursuit. I couldn't put the story down." (Meg Moseley, author of A Stillness of Chimes)

"Let My Daughter Go is a fast-paced story that left me gasping with each flip of the page, desperate to know what was going to happen next. I loved this story!" (Lynette Eason, best-selling author of The Blue Justice Series)

About the Author

Creston Mapes grew up in Northeast Ohio, where he has fond memories of living with his family of five in the upstairs' portion of his dad's early American furniture store - The Weathervane Shop. Creston was not a good student, but the one natural talent he possessed was writing.

He set type by hand and cranked out his own neighborhood newspaper as a kid, then went on to graduate with a degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University. Creston was a newspaper reporter and photographer in Ohio and Florida, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, for a job as a creative copywriter for a printing firm/ad agency.

Creston served for a stint as a creative director, but quickly learned he was not cut out for management. He went out on his own as a freelance writer in 1991 and did work for Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, The Weather Channel, Oracle, ABC-TV, Johnson Controls, TNT Sports, colleges and universities, ad agencies, and more. He's ghost-written more than 10 nonfiction books.

Along the way, Creston has written 10 contemporary thrillers, achieved Amazon best seller status, and had one of his novels (Nobody) optioned as a major motion picture. He plans to continue writing fiction into the sunset.

Creston married his fourth grade sweetheart, Patty, and they have four amazing kids who range from 21 to 31 years old. Creston loves his part-time job as an usher at local venues were he gets to see all the latest-greatest concerts and sporting events. He enjoys reading, fishing, time with his family, and dates with his wife.

Great characters!

I loved the characters and the different voices really brought them to life. I don’t know what kept my focus more, the storyline or my endearment to the characters. Lina was my absolute favorite!!

Oh My Word!!!

Creston Mapes is a master of suspense and drama! This book does not let up. He puts his characters in situations that seemingly have no way out. We highly recommend this book, as well as the first in this series, Signs of Life. And how long before #3?!

Autism Strengths

I loved that the author brought out so many strengths as the daughter with special needs navigated the crisis of being kidnapped.

Very Exciting and Gripping!

This book was exciting from start to finish! I had a hard time pressing pause! The narrator did a fantastic job! As the mother of a son with autism, the Lena character also resonated with me. I’m looking forward to listening to the next book in the series!
