About this listen

The New York Times best-selling author of the “enthralling thriller” Vision Impossible is back with her newest Psychic Eye mystery, in which psychic Abigail Cooper must rely on her inner vision to search for a missing woman.

When a mysterious client approaches Abby with a cryptic message about a young mother who has vanished, Abby is more than willing to get involved. After all, it’s the perfect distraction from dealing with the headache of her sister Cat – who has flown into town and turned Abby and Dutch’s impending nuptials into Weddingpalooza.

After Abby recruits her business partner and BFF, Candice, to assist, they meet with the parents of the missing woman. But the parents refuse to put their faith in a psychic. What’s worse, due to a grave misunderstanding, the family suspects Abby has a connection to their daughter’s husband – the man they believe to be responsible for her disappearance. So while the family may be blind to the truth, with a potential killer in her sights, Abby is determined to keep her eyes wide open.

Very enjoyable story. I have the whole series.

I like stories that have some of the magical or mystical in them and have really enjoyed this series. And as a reference I have also thoroughly enjoyed Ellery Adams Secret Scone Society books and Sue Grafton's alphabet series.
I like the way the author has developed an enjoyable, believable cast of characters. Each book is a dip into a familiar family.
I also like how this series actually progresses and Abby and crew age and mature over maybe a 10 year period.
There are plot flaws and they can be annoying. The main character's parents in the initial few books were presented one way and then in a very dark and different way all of a sudden. It has made me want to go back to re-read those first books to see if I missed an undertone. So that has had me scratching my head. Also with her sister. They were depicted as close and talked nearly everyday. Over time Cat has become a caricature of her former self and very annoying. And Abby's psychic abilities fail her at most of the critical times which is frustrating. But probably the only way the author could create a way for the conflicts to exist in the story.
The narrator does a nice job. She has portrayed a variety of male and female characters well. Except. What happened to Bryce?? In the books he was described as having a "smooth baritone voice" or something to that effect. But especially in this book he sounds extremely nasally and nerdy. ? It's like being introduced to a totally different character. And in an earlier book where she narrated a European character she affected a stilted voice and then it carried over and changed Abby's voice.
But despite the complaints, overall it is a fun light hearted series and worth a listen.

Another great addition!

Any additional comments?

Love, love this series! Fun romp with lots of action. The murder mystery resolution and final suspect isn't completely credible, but this is a fantasy and the antics of the characters more than make up for it. I loved how Abby uses radar to avoid her sister Cat--wish I had that kind of radar! At one point, I wondered how Cat could run a multi-million dollar business with a personality so grating to her sister, but finally attributed it to her intense and focused drive. Narrator Elizabeth Michaels does great in capturing the personalities and I particularly loved her expressions of sarcasm. Definitely a fun read. I usually play my lighter Audible books at 1.25 or 1.50 speed to make them even more fun and to get to resolution more quickly. I have never been a patient reader. :-)

this book seemed to be written haphazardly.

I could swear parts of the story were answered more than once and made it confusing.

I'm an Abby fan.

Loved this book. Did not catch the killer till Abby sprung it. Good twist and turns. I had to sit and listen in the car a few times to end a chapter or a clue. Ready for the next one.

Suspenseful till the end...

The minute you start listening Victoria Laurie grabs your attention. She works every character to perfection and Elizabeth Michaels brings them to life with her narration, each book is better than the one before. Kudos to both ladies excellent work.
