Publisher's summary

What happens when a police officer’s fight for justice conflicts with an ER doctor’s commitment to patient care?

Police officer Finley Masters wants to interview an injured suspect and make an arrest so she can move on to the next case. As long as she keeps closing cases she can hide the pain of caring for her alcoholic father.

Dr. Dylan Carlyle dedicates herself to healing the sick and looking after her family. She doesn’t have time for dating, especially not a reckless cop who thinks she’s God’s gift to women. When Finley Masters strolls into the emergency room making demands, Dylan protects her turf and her heart.

A tragic incident brings them together, but their feelings keep them coming back.

Police and medicine go well together

I am a sucker for the combination of police and medicine oops and this one was as good as others on this genre. I loved it. I liked Finley more that Dylan, and I missed some more drama but it was good and with Hollis Elizabeth’s narration it was a pleasure

Great third in the series!

This was a wonderful series. I hope there is a fourth. I need more! The Dillon and Fin meeting at the beginning did shock me...how does one continue after that? But they did and it was sexy and hot. Hollis was her usual fantastic self bringing to life all our favorite voices. Im sad this may be the end...or will it be???

Excellent story, great performance

I'm sad to see this series end, but happy to see it conclude with such an excellent story. The youngest of the Carlyle sisters tried to break out of her family's pattern of becoming cops or firefighters by going to medical school and becoming a doctor. More than rejecting their choice of career, she even refuses to date cops. She's already lost her father and grandfather, both in the line of duty. She won't set herself up to lose a lover to the same fate. Until Officer Finley Masters walks into her ER. Nobody writes with such insight into the pitfalls, angst and emotions of cops as VK Powell, herself a retired cop who worked her way from patrol officer to deputy police chief in a mid-sized city. And, as always, Hollis Elizabeth, is an excellent narrator.

Not much of a plot

Very thin storyline with this one…characters and supposed conflict poorly developed. Narration was ok, but again-not much of real interest to develop much dialogue.
