About this listen

Lily

He’s rough. He’s ready. I’m neither.

I’m a sacrificial lamb just waiting to be slaughtered.

A socialite spawned by a sadist whose life’s work is to cause misery in others.

My life is a prison cell, until he helps me find the key.

He’s not as dark or as dirty as they say he is.

His roughness stirs something in me.

Something primal. Something no socialite should crave.

He’s a brother in an MC, a world that should be alien to me but somehow, it’s my first real home. It has rules and regulations that make no sense to me, but one thing is clear: society princesses and MC brothers aren’t a match made in heaven.

But I’m fine with ruling over hell instead…

Link is the second book in the eleven-book A Dark & Dirty Sinners’ MC series.

Wrong side

Link and Lily shouldn’t work. He is from the wrong side of the tracks if you will. Yet this rough and ready biker shows his gentle side. He pieces back together this damaged girl so she can stand tall. Teddy and Rose truly brought this amazing story to life.

Way better than Nyx

The characters are much more likable (to me at least) than the previous book. The overarching story is very interesting and I’m looking forward to continuing the journey. I like how this author sprinkles in chapters with other character POVs besides the main two. It’s just enough for us to get to know the other characters without it taking away from the main two. Link was such a great MMC. Seems like he’s the only man in this MC who knows how to properly woo a woman. And it’s not even that hard…he just gets to know her, treats her with respect, and shows her affection. This was a welcome reprieve from Nyx getting his dick sucked in public in an attempt to make Gulia jealous 🙄. I’m sure there’s more idiot bikers to come but I can’t wait to see where the story takes us.

Loving the Series

I started listening to Book 1 while waiting on another to release and I’m glad I did. I feel like the voice has been off a couple of times, throwing me off on who’s talking. But not enough to keep me from listening. The voices are good and the storyline is better. Headed on to the next one!

Entwined

These book are so entwined with each other. Another interesting thing is there are many points of view in this author’s story. You definitely need to pay attention.

trigger warning: I appreciated the warning before I read it

Thank you for the trigger warning; it was definitely warranted. Woah.
I liked the story and how the MC is intent on taking care of the nightmares the women are put through. It was deep and I loved the first book so much more but this one was thought provoking- for a suspenseful romance.
The voice the female narrator did of link or other men was not my favorite at all which is the reason for the 4/5 on narration. The male was good! I loved the narration from the first book so I had high expectations.
Definitely going to download the next book and interested in where the story will go.

Refreshing listening to Link

I loved listening to Link and Lilly's story. It was refreshing to listen to it after having read it so long ago. Link was such a sweetheart towards Lilly and everything she had been through. Teddy Hamilton is the perfect Narrator to bring him to life. Rose Dioro did an excellent job of bringing Lilly to life in the audiobook.

Good but…

The story and point of view was all over the place. The relationship and spice between Link and Lily was lacking, too. It seemed like the author was so focused on the overarching series plotline that she spent most of this book setting up for other books. It really gave me the impression that Link and Lily’s story was sold short.

The book itself wasn’t bad, but it was messy. It could’ve been done a lot better if it was more focused and went deeper into Link and Lily themselves.

Not what I was expecting

This is NOT a dark and dirty romance. This book is somewhere around PG-13 if you like dark romance. This also didn’t feel like Link and Lillie’s story. It was just an MC story. The first book had narrative from supporting characters, but it was still mostly focused on the main characters. This one had input from a lot of people talking about things that had nothing to do with the main characters. Not only that, these little snippets popped up at random times and interrupted the main story. I haven’t listened to the next story yet, but it seemed like this book was written to set up the next book and maybe continue the last one. It just didn’t feel like its own story. The ending is very abrupt. Again, probably setting up the next book, but just know it just ends suddenly. Of course Teddy Hamilton was excellent as always. The female narrator was good voicing the female, but her male voice was not so great.
Overall, I did like Link and Lillie, and I also enjoyed the first book. I am planning to continue with this series hoping it goes in a direction more like the first one.
