About this listen

Now a USA Today Best Seller!

From best-selling author Willow Winters comes a provocative stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

You'll tell me you don't...but you already think you know what my story's about.

You have no idea.

Just like the people sitting in this courtroom.

She asked for it. That's what they keep saying.

And no, it's not because my skirt was too short or I was drunk at a party.

It's nothing like that. It's because of what I like and how I like it.

They're judging me as I sit in the front row, my eyes drawn to the man on trial.

If I'd known it was going to end like this, I never would have gone home with him.

But he's the type of man I just can't say no to.

I wanted to feel his lips kiss down my neck.

I dreamed of running my fingers along the rough stubble on his jaw.

I craved his hands on me, pinning me down.

I needed to whisper his name in the dark, late at night.

You still think you know what happened? You don't.

He's innocent, and I enjoyed every second I was with him.

Let me tell you my story, all about how I asked for it.

This book has an incredible message

The narration is great. At first the story was very confusing and hard to follow and I almost gave up on it. I am so glad I didnt. The puzzle pieces all come together at the end and it has a very important and powerful message.

Grew better towards the end

I can't decide how I feel about this one. For the content and structure of the plot it seemed longer than it needed to be. I didn't feel like this grabbed me or like I was compelled to keep listening. I didn't feel invested in the characters. There is a character in the past who ends up being a major part of the plot, but there wasn't much about this character at first, the person was just kind of sprung on the reader all of a sudden.

I still give it 4 stars (maybe 3.5 or 3.75?) because the last part (from the build up to the climactic moment and after that) made the rest of it make more sense and seem worth it.

Be warned that parts of this could be triggering due to r*pe, it is not overly graphic or gratuitous but it's there...

Impactful

Loved it. It has some great quotable phrases and moments. And shows Love is stronger. More importantly its poignant and encouraging!

Frustrated

By the end when things made sense it was a good story. I just didn’t like the effort that went into what seemed like keeping it confusing. So much just didn’t make sense to me. I struggled to keep up with what was going on until close to the end. I was exhausted

Excellent

This story started unappealing yet as the story unfolded it was hard to stop listening. It was emotional and intense and be aware of how it can be a trigger due to the experience of the characters.
Excellent story!
