About this listen

A heart-warming tale of love, sisterhood and hardship during the New England Civil War, Little Women tells the story of the lovable March family. Meg, Beth, Jo and Amy try to support their mother at home while their father is away at war and enter into various scrapes and adventures as they do so. Alcott beautifully interweaves bad times and good as her characters struggle with the trials and tribulations of growing up and their relationships with one another.

Only Part One

Buyers need to be aware that this is only part one of the book. The book is awesome...I just thought I’d gotten the whole thing!

Performance was perfect

I have listened to many versions of this novel but have hated how it has always sounded like someone reading a novel to a very very young child. They make the voices annoying and high pitched, and the dialogue gets stilted and unnatural. That is not the case with this version. Narration is done beautifully and dialogue sounds natural with how she does it.
Buyer beware, though. Little Women was originally published as two books. Part one, Little Women. Part two, Good wives. This audiobook version released the original versions in their original two book format. To get the full story you need both parts. Well worth it for the quality of the narrator.

Should there be another part to this book?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story is great and I looked forward to listening to this classic. I have never read the book so I'm not sure if there is a mistake however it appears that there should be another part to the book because it ends abruptly. It was disappointing because the story was pretty good.

really disappointed

this audible version was fine until it ended at the engagement of Meg. that's not nearly the entire book!!!! I am SO disappointed, wouldn't have been ought it had I known. I read this story many times when I was child, and lopping off the last third of the book is a major flaw.
