Publisher's summary

Popular blogger Kathryn Whitaker is a Dr Pepper super fan, Aggie-loving, type A mom of six with a personality the size of her native Texas. The stressful premature birth of her fifth child threw her orderly world into chaos and, ultimately, led her to rethink her priorities.

In Live Big, Love Bigger, Whitaker shares her journey and challenges listeners to understand that they, too, can live a life of authenticity with joy-filled purpose, love, and faith. Along the way, she’ll help listeners see that choosing to say no is the only way they’ll be able to say yes to what matters most: Jesus.

It’s not every family who would plan a week-long Texas barbecue pilgrimage for a family of eight, much less expand the idea to a multi-month quest to experience the state, eat amazing food, and visit some awesome religious sites along the way. But Whitaker did it - when she decided imperfect family road trips trumped a vacation at a luxury resort. “Barbecue encouraged us to hit the road, while Jesus met us at every single stop along the way - proof that he loves brisket as much as we do, right?”

Ditching the fancy vacation was one way Whitaker learned to give up control and say no to perfectionism and overachievement in order to live a new, more intentional life and discover what God truly has in store for her family.

Whitaker’s sassy authenticity will make listeners laugh - and cry - while encouraging them to be honest about mistakes in every area of their life, embrace them, and find a way to let God redeem it all.

A story worth reading over and over

With a heartfelt reading by the author herself, this story comforted me and at the same time, pushed me to ask myself the hard questions all while sharing the amazing insights into what "love bigger" means to a sassy Texan with a heart for Jesus and BBQ.
I already owned the digital and hard copies of this book but when I heard the audio version was going to be released, I waited to finish the book. I wanted to hear the final 2 chapters read by Kathryn and it was worth the wait. Listening to it from start to finish was such a delight, and I'll definitely be repeating the experience soon.

Uplifting Reminder of God’s Grace

This book was a gift from God to remind me his love never fails. I needed to hear that message. Kathryn shared her story of faith in an honest and relatable way. It’s good to know I am not the only mom that hides in the closet to cry.

Texas twang

Loved hearing the author read the book. Liked her true passion for life,God her husband and her family reminding us to turn to pray and to believe in miracles. We have lived in San Antonio for 34 years; bar b que,Dr. pepper, and Queso are all favorites of mine too; part of living in Texas. Recommending the book to our book club of women ages from late 20’s to early 70 from St. Francis Catholic Church. Thank You!

It's relatable for everyone

Even as a single, middle aged women who never had children, I connected with Katheryn in every chapter. Her wit and Texas drawl made it even more enjoyable to listen to.
