About this listen

Did I break into an animal shelter? Yes. Should it be a crime? Absolutely not. After all, I’m just trying to save these darling kittens from being sent to a lab for experiments. They deserve a loving home, and I intend to give them one. Well, that was the plan, but then I ran into some complications. Several of them. And they all have badges, guns, and handcuffs. So, off to jail I go, but I make my one phone call to the only man who can help me. Benton. I just hope he doesn’t tell my father what I’ve been up to.

Penelope is in trouble, and I’m the only one who can help her. I make it to the jail almost before she does and save her from a night in the drunk tank. But once I get her to my house, I have a hard time letting her leave. After all, she’s been on my mind since the first moment I met her. And this little run-in with the law is just what I need to convince her that I can be her everything. House arrest has never seemed so appealing. My plan is so close to working out, but Penelope always brings something extra — could be stolen kittens, could be dangerous family ties. With my Penny, life is always a surprise.

MINK's Note: Curl up with a kitty and a coffee for this fun, safe romp with steam and an HEA.

*****
Benton was so sneaky when he was trying to get Penelope where he wanted her. I would have been super annoyed with him but Penelope was very forgiving. He did an awesome job of making it up to her and that was super sweet. I loved their happy ever after and I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it! The narrators for the book are awesome and made the funny parts of the story even better.

Better than expected

LOVED this story, i loved the FL and how cute, funny, and innocent she is. The ML has the patience of a saint for her and the 3 kittens that took over his house

Cute

It's a cute story, and very romantic. The sex is just ok. It's not HOT or sizzling, but it is romantic. Very sweet.

Locking Her Down

I love the story! But did didn’t like that Penny was set to act like a ditz, but it worked because Benton loved her no matter what. Thanks a Great Listen!

Not enough comedy; too much cringe

Other than Penelope messing up idioms like “it’s rudimentary my dear Watson” or
“I’m so hungry, I could eat hornets,” there really isn’t any comedy.
Instead it’s cloyingly cute things like her repeatedly calling Benton “Benny.” Blech.
She acts like she’s twelve, but her actual age isn’t much better;
as a college student, she’s much younger than lawyer Benton.

The romance was super clunky.
There’s the scene where he wants to make her first time “perfect,” but enters with one thrust. 🙄
Or the scene where he professes his love out of the blue.
Or the marriage proposal.

This author is hit or miss for me, and this was definitely a miss.
