About this listen

One look.

That's all it took for me to fall hopelessly in love with Rachel.

My Rachel.

I'll do anything for her.

The pretty little barista doesn't even know me.

But I make it my mission to know everything about her.

When circumstances force me to come out of the shadows, she's even more perfect than I ever imagined.

But keeping my obsession under control is impossible, and it could ruin everything.

Coffee does make the day better

This book had my attention from the very beginning. Rachel and Derrick are wonderful characters. I loved that Derrick is Irish and later in the book you get to know more about him. Rachel is a hardworking dreamer who doesn't realize she has the attention of the Irishman. "Fate" brings them together but when Rachel realizes what really brought them together, things go sideways but they find their happy ending.

Obsession to the max!

First of all reading a book that is steamy if very different than listening to it. I happen to enjoy books that have a strong obsessive twist and this one had it in spades. I do think that Derrick was more than a little OTT but that is not a bad thing. I will say that I kind of guessed how Rachel would feel when she found out her acceptance of why Derrick did what he did is sweet.

Perfect title for the novella

I enjoyed the story and the narrating. At first I felt I was missing something but it is a short story and in the end that wasn’t an issue. Overall I enjoyed the characters and the title is perfect for the book.

Derrick's OTT obsession

Derrick first sees his Rachel when she is working at a coffee shop, his takes obsession to a whole new level. When Rachel first meets him, there is an instant chemistry. Things do not go how this Irishman planned when fate is found out to be something else. Can he convince her to give a shot?

Loved the narrator in this one, she really pulled off the male voice.

Great short story

The obsession is described perfectly. The narrator on the other hand, didn't like the voice, tone, pitch she just wasn't right for this story.

Must listen and read!

I thought Laurie West did a fantastic job with Rachel and Derrick story. Her growly voice was perfect for Derrick and her sweet voice for Rachel was wonderful.
Rachel and Derrick's story is short, funny, sweet, steamy, has some drama but a wonderfully sweet HEA. I would recommend this book and audiobook.

Eve and Lucian

I dare you to kiss a smexy stranger for $1000. In out and money... totally easy right? Not at all life changing. This is a story about a masked ball and miss communication. So sweet and smexy. So cute!

The narrators were such great choices! I feel like the voices matched the characters.

Steamy Insta-Love

The story is entertaining, and for an Insta-love trope, it is immensely satisfying. Derek and Rachel are believable and their relationship develops almost instantly from their first meeting. Although unknown to Rachel, Derek’s attachment started way before that meeting.

When he first laid eyes on Rachel, that was it for Derek and he claims her for his own. The author brilliantly conveys Derek’s over-the-top obsession for Rachel through his stalking behavior and over-protective antics. How does this all come together when Rachel soon finds out what Derek has been up to? Was the love real? I loved all the steamy erotic scenes and Derek’s devotion.

I was irritated by the narrator’s growly version of an Irish brogue, in the beginning, because I couldn’t understand what was being said, but got used to it. Just wished there was a deeper masculine version for Derek’s part. All in all, it was a great story and a satisfying epilogue
