About this listen

When my best friend and I fell for the same guy in middle school, I stepped back.

I'd always expected to dance at their wedding.

Not sit in the back pew of her funeral.

I left town for my own reasons, but now that I'm back, it’s clear Sebastian Montgomery isn't the same man I left.

He's hard. Broken.

And a single father to an adorable little girl.

When it turns out he’s my new neighbor, I can’t stay away.

But I know I’m playing with fire and the heat between us burns enough to scorch.

I thought I was over my crush.

But now it might crush me.

Longtime Crush

Oh my heart. There is a time jump from the end of At First Meet and the start of this one. Which is absolutely perfect. Sebastian has come into his own being a single father and Nora is adorable. Raven is back in town, and has history with Sebastian and Marley. The emotions are high in this book from page one. Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to make my heart break for these characters, but she always puts it back together. The emotion that the narrators put into this story was amazing.

Fantastic story and audio

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end. We have gotten to see Sebastian and watch his world crash and having to find a way to move forward and take care of his baby after losing his first love and having to fight to keep his daughter. I loved watching Sebastian and his daughter Nora! She is five and so we get plenty of personality and cuteness here. I loved watching Raven come back into the picture and how things start coming together for these two. Raven has had a crush on Sebastian before but he was with Marley and they were all best friends. This time around, Sebastian has that immediate connection and attraction to Raven and he isn't entirely sure what to do with it at first. I loved watching these two start coming together and rebuilding their friendship and taking that step towards a relationship. They were both really cute and adorable together. We get to see their friendship rekindle quickly though with some awkwardness at times due to the new physical attraction/tension. This story definitely deals with some hard things as they are both trying to overcome what has happened and how to create a relationship without feeling like replacing Marley. Neither seem to really be used to dating and/or being in a relationship so are feeling their way along. This story flowed really well and pulled me in from beginning to end. It had plenty of intrigue and things that kept the story moving forward and reader engaged. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait for the next book!
The narrators did a fantastic job with this story. You could really hear the emotion and action the voice which brought the story to life. I really enjoyed it and it added that extra dynamic to it.

Never fails to reel me in.

Liked the characters and their struggles after tragedy makes Sebastian grow up fast as a single father. Raven comes back not expecting to fall for Sebastian and his little girl, but everyone has to move past their doubts.

Longtime Crush

This is a sweet and sexy story. I am glad that Sebastian finds something to fight for alongside his daughter. When Raven comes back into his life everything changes. The two were childhood friends along with Marley but life doesn’t always go the way you want it to and they lose Marley. As Sebastian and Raven work to find their way they must also deal with mourning the death of their friend Marley. Marley’s family only makes things worse for Raven, Sebastian and his daughter.
I enjoyed Sebastian and Raven’s story. The two make a good couple and the way their relationship grows is a sweet story. Their relationship is a rollercoaster ride and emotions take center stage. It was nice to see all the family relationships and the banter between all the characters. Narrators Meg Sylva, Jacob Morgan and Connor Crais do a good job of bringing these characters and their emotions to life

All the feels!

Sebastian and Raven have been best friends, along with Marley since they were kids. Hiding a secret crush on Sebastian and no longer wanting to feel like a third wheel, Raven decides to leave after high school.

At 18, Sebastian loses the love of his life while giving birth to his daughter. Now a single father and sill grieving his loss, Sebastian quits school and focus all his energy on raising his daughter Nora.

Fast forward five years, Sebastian is shocked to see Raven on his doorstep and wants to know why she's back in town, She tells him about the café she plans to open and she's back to stay. Being neighbors and spending time together again, Sebastian and Raven can no longer fight the chemistry between them. Things seem to be going well until Marley's parents show up at Raven's café spewing hateful things that causes her to doubt her relationship with Sebastian. When Nora starts asking questions if her daddy loves Raven and will she be her new mommy, Sebastian freaks out. Having heard the conversation, Raven and Sebastian get into a heated discussion and she decides it's to much to soon and leaves; Sebastian doesn't go after her. When he finally realizes he's in love with her, will it be to late.

Sebastian and Raven's love story has all the feels. Sebastian was once Marley's Sebastian, can he let go of the past to be Raven's Sebastian and find the HEA that they both deserve.

Great narration.

Second Chance at Romance

Sebastian, Marley and Raven were best friends. When Marley died young, Sebastian was left to be a young father.
Raven returns home to not only be neighbors with Sebastian at home, but also next door at work. Sebastian was surprised he still liked Raven.
There were a lot of emotional moments and some funny ones too, as all the cousins put their 2 cents in on this relationship.
This audio book was excellent and I would definitely recommend.
