About this listen

A powerful book that creates a conversation around the topic of blindness

Look at It This Way answers questions we all may have been reluctant to ask, it gives us a glimpse into what blind people experience living in a sighted world, and it breaks through barriers that may cause people to think that differences equate to superiority or inferiority.

There is an open discussion about the challenges blind people face and how those challenges can be overcome, by creating a space of understanding and awareness between people who are sighted and people who are blind. This book invites us to remember how connected all of us truly are and gives us ways to strengthen our bonds with each other, whether we can see or not.

Try seeing things her way!

As a fellow blind person, I can’t say enough about how meaningful and significant this book is! In a book that runs just around four hours, Sammy has managed to sum up the “blind experience” with all the challenges, misconceptions, ups and downs that come with it. She demonstrates that,, as she says in the book, “Our eyes are broken, our minds aren’t.” Take a bold step and read this book to discover just how much the blind and sighted are alike. You’ll be extremely pleasantly surprised!

Insight for the blind in all of us

This book answers many questions frequently asked of the blind. Sammy patiently goes through her experiences as a blind person. Then she flips the message on its head by pointing out how we have been blind to many aspects of life and understanding. This book is worth its weight in gold. Thank you Sammy and thank you for reading this book.

Life changing

I’m so glad that I listened to this book. Now I now have a better understanding of what life is like living life without vision. The author is so courageous and insightful. She is truly an inspiration.

We need to understand how to live together

I love the personal aspect towards empathy and education towards living together with each of us. I would love to hire different professionals to be consultants to how I can be more inclusive and maybe increase the number of my customers.
