About this listen

Falling in love with the goodie-goodie in school was never supposed to happen. Watching her in the color guard all summer long on the field during football practice makes me want her no matter what. She's the type of girl the preppy girls pick on but she's truly a beautiful girl.

She keeps me at arm’s length no matter what I do. She’s convinced I’m just another stupid jock who likes to party too much and play games on and off the field. Convincing the prettiest girl in school to give me a chance forever changes the courses of our lives.

No matter what she says or does, we are destined to fall in love and our destiny will forever change my world in the end as nothing will ever be the same again.

Narrator captured story essence perfectly!

Lost myself completely in storytelling, felt like I was part of the action. Enjoyed the narrator’s portrayal and how he captured each character’s uniqueness.

Finding Hope = Finding his home

Opposites really do attract in this small Tennessee town. Great high school romance, typical football player, cheerleader, misfit antics. Parties while the parents are away and some drama and heartache thrown into the mix. I can’t say much more without giving the ending away but let’s just say I will be downloading book two the minute it hits this platform. 5 stars just isn’t enough

Short story

The main character was too hard to like for me. From the very start him was too whiny and angry during the middle he was more likeable, but in the end he was back to the angry whiny kid again. It was pretty predictable, but I still enjoyed listening to it.

Overall it's a good book.

The overall book was good although the main character needs to man up. I just don't see a guy acting like he does all the time. The narrator did a good job if making the main character a whiny boy was the goal. This book was still a pleasure to listen to and I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.

YA high school contemporary romance

Narrated by Jeremy Frazier
He’s a voice over actor who began in narrating in 2005. This is an unabridged short story and book 1 in the Finding Me duet. This is my first listen by Jeremy. It’s a good performance. Jeremy doesn’t go above and beyond. I appreciate the effort he put into his performance. Jeremy does a good job performing the male character. Although, I always struggle listening to men perform female voices. I listened at 2.2x speed.
Losing Hope was written by Susan Meachen. This is the third audiobook I’ve listened to that was written by her. Unfortunately, her writing style and voice doesn’t hold my interest. Im not finding myself immersed in the characters lives. The words don’t move me the way I need them to.

Hope is the main female character and Dale is the main male character. Dale is the popular guy in school who plays football. Hope is the good girl who stays clear of the popular crowd.
Losing Hope is about Dale wanting to gain the attention of Hope. He aims fir friendship in the hopes that it becomes more. It’s a cute young adult contemporary romance between high school teenagers. It’s an easy read. The story is a day to day telling of these two main characters lives. I must admit the minute details do not propel this story forward. Susan covered all the typical milestone moments that happen during junior and senior year, but it was redundant with the constant comments regarding past mistakes and not ruining their future. Susan overdramatized some scenes, but it’s too be expected when writing about the high school years.
Susan wrote Dale’s character with that matter of fact quality. Unfortunately, I never connected with these characters due to the lack of emotions.

I couldn’t finish it, narrator was horrible

I couldn’t listen to more than 20 mins of this story. The narrator just ruined what could have been a good story
