About this listen

An enzyme that will dramatically prolong life has been discovered 2,000 feet down in the North Atlantic, in an area known as "Lost City". But why are the people attempting to harvest it getting killed? Why are the scientists in a remote Greek laboratory disappearing one by one? What does this all have to do with a body found frozen in the ice high up in the Alps? To Kurt Austin, leader of NUMA's Special Assignments Team, and his colleague Joe Zavala, it's clear they have their work cut out for them, but it may be even bigger than they think, in fact, it may be their greatest challenge of all.

Rich with all the hair-raising action and endless imagination that have become Cussler's hallmarks, Lost City is an exceptional thriller.

If you could sum up Lost City in three words, what would they be?

Another Cussler Great

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Like all of Clive Cussler's stories, there was action, impossible situations to get out of, and unexpeded turn of events.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

Scott Brick is one of my favorite readers and as always does a great job on reading the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The were some laughs in the story, but the action and the flow of the story was what kept me glued to the auto book.

Any additional comments?

I wish that all of Clive Cussler's older books could be put on audio CD or Audio Book down loads, and in Unabridged format.

Scott Brick was a great narrator. He switched accents easily from American to French, and Scottish. The story line was exciting and mostly credible, in a James Bond kind of way. I only wish the final scene with the destruction of the weed was given a little more time and thought.

My 3rd Clive cussler story.

Excellent listen. This was a good listen. Very action packed. One of those that had you visualizing everything was going on. Good story, Good listen, and recommended!

Action Packed and Non-Stop

Don't fight the science! Just let go and get carried away. The question is not could it be true or could it happen. This and all good fiction is held between that which could be and who knows. So don't fight the little stuff and ride along with eyes wide open. Not all dreams need tobe built upon rock and facts. That my friends would leave us all in the trash bin of dreams and fiction.

Yet another tale that makes you belive!

Keeps your attention in how Austin and savala will ultimately save the day. Much enjoyed

Great adventure

I've read a number of Cussler novels and the story is pretty much always the same...but, I always seem to enjoy knocking one out! Lot's of fun, twists and turns.

Cussler & Brick = Super Combo!

Many of Clive Cussler's stories are sensational, however this story is a bit over-the-top. I truly enjoyed the plot line and book, but just had a deep feeling of campiness fro this story. The Oregon Files are, in my opinion, his very best writings.

Sensational

Truly an excellent, mind holding production! After dozens of hits of Clive that I have read, this is another big hit. I heartily recommend it.

Excellent storyline

What did you love best about Lost City?

The detailed account of the history of the Fauchard family over the centuries.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Skye Labelle, who would not not love a beautiful and sexy female soviet spy?

Which scene was your favorite?

The early part of the book where it describes the research complex below the ice and what happens there.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I try to enjoy books by reading or listening to them slowly.

Any additional comments?

I would love to listen to Scott Brick recordings of unabridged versions of the first 4 NUMA Files Books; Serpent, Blue Gold, Fire Ice, and White Death.

I have become a Clive Cussler Fan
