About this listen

Antonio Sanchez is looking for his family.

His wife and daughter were headed to Montana Territory from Santa Fe, Mexico to join him in Paradise Valley. But he hasn't heard from them in a long time, and every day that passes his anxiety for their safety grows. As soon as the snow melts, he decides to travel back to Texas, their last known location, to see if he can discover their whereabouts. But bands of outlaws, disgruntled townsfolk hankering for blood, and drunken cowpokes turn his journey into an epic and dangerous adventure.

Lotte Veldon and her husband traveled all the way from Holland to Texas to start a new life as pioneers. But a tragedy leaves her stranded, alone and on the run.

When their paths collide on a dusty Texas road, neither of them realizes just how much their lives are about to change. When Lotte begs him to let her help find his family, he reluctantly agrees, but only until he finds her a more permanent place to stay.

Time on the road will fan the flames of affection and put both their lives at risk. Will Antonio find his family? And what will become of Lotte if he does?

Lost in Laredo

Two people from very different lives are brought together by circumstances beyond their control... this is their story.

Vivi Holt has written an emotional story. Antonio and Lotte are both dealing with heartbreaking losses, but their time traveling together has given them both the opportunity to move beyond the pain and start over. The narration by Cody Roberts really added to my enjoyment.

The Best!!!

Each story in this series is so amazing and they all end up back in Paradise Valley...Antonio has been kind of a mystery although we know he had sent for his wife and daughter from Mexico, but he had not heard for a long time on their progress and he worried something had happened to them. So he set out to track them down,
Lotte Veldon and her husband had come all the way from Holland to start a new life. This was such a hard part of the story as we see what happens and leaves her alone.
These two meet up on the road and Lotte kind of latches on to Antonio but their journey is a long and winding trail is fraught with danger and sadness. Yes I cried especially about Hans, who you will read about.
Vivi Holt brings out all of the emotions in her stories and Cody Roberts is perfect with his wonderful voices and expressiveness. Another perfect audible story!

Loss, Love, and the Renewal of Spirit

The brutal truth of the hardships faced in the American Western frontier is palpable in this post Civil War story. Antonio and Lottes' paths cross to give us the heart breaking reality of two people's losses and their ability to overcome their circumstances to accept help, companionship and eventually love from each other.
I enjoyed the story by VivI Holt and the superb narration by Cody Roberts for a touching and bold audio book and highly recommend it.

Great Story!

This is the third book in the Paradise Valley Series. I haven't listened to the first books in the Series. This is a Historical Western Romance. This story is well written and the storyline is intriguing and filled with mystery and suspense. This story kept my attention from the first page to the end. Antonio is a protective man and Lotte is a strong woman. We follow them in this adventure. Together, they are able to deal with this journey and their losses. I love their HEA and the Epilogue. The narration is well done. This was my first listen to Cody Roberts. He has a soft voice, easy to listen. Enthralling, Sweet & Clean Romance

Antonio Sanchez's wife Maria and his daughter Consuela were supposed to join him in Paradise Valley. But he hasn't heard from them in far too long so as soon as the snow melts, he decides to travel back to Texas, their last known location, to see if he can discover what has happened to them.

Lotte Veldon, her husband, aunt, and uncle have traveled all the way from Holland to Texas to start a new life as pioneers and just when they think they have made it tragedy strikes and she becomes the lone survivor of an Indian attack, with little more than the clothes on her back and her chances of survival poor.

When their paths collide on a dusty Texas road, neither of them realizes just how much their lives are about to change. Lotte persuades Antonio to let her accompany him whilst he tries to find his family, he agrees, thinking it will only be until he finds her a more permanent place to stay.

Their journey is long and hard and together they face many dangers, and all of Antonio's attempts to find Lotte somewhere to stay are failures and she remains steadfastly by his side. On their journey, they add to their party a child who has also lost her family.

This book is very well written and the story kept me totally engrossed. There were times I held my breath thinking "Oh No not more hardships" and times I rejoiced at some good fortune. They are both there for each other when they need each other most, but will that be enough? Can they both let go of their pasts and learn to love each other?

There is so much more I could tell you about this book but I'm not going to say anymore because it would totally spoil your enjoyment. You really should go in knowing no more than I have already said and become as enthralled by the story as I was.

I would, however, like to say how very well this story was narrated by Cody Roberts, so many accents and inflections were brought to bear to make this wonderful wide-ranging story a complete joy to listen to.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Loved this one!

Antonio Sanchez has been missing his wife and daughter they were supposed to come and join him on Paradise Ranch in Montana, but their letters stopped a year ago. Lotte Veldon just moved to America with her husband and family only to find that life in America is much harder than they thought. How do these two opposite people from two different continents and cultures find that life is worth living even through the joys and tragedies of living?

Vivi has really done another great job with the Paradise Valley series! I loved this one. Cody Roberts. . . what can I say? He did a wonderful job with narrating and then all the different accents that this book called for. I love the way Cody weaves authors' stories into an even richer experience than just reading!
